Ah well, generating orthos is easy enough, so it's just a matter of time and disk space to make default X-lane that good.

Haven’t soared since FSX. I really enjoyed it quite a lot. Thanks for the inspiration to do it once again

Thought I'd drop in and say hello.. Miss you all.. I've been playing a bit. Not like i used too mind you, but as I can. Had some bad equipment that really put a damper on things for a long time, so that little check that everyone recieved went a long way to replacing it all and paying my landlords property taxes too.. I got myself a Thrustmaster Warthog throttle, and a VKB Gunfighter joystick ( which just arrived yesterday ). Still font trust the new setup. Too many really bad experiences with the old setup I guess, but so far its wonderful and I'm enjoying the hell out of it..

    B-26B Freeware

Here are some shots from my B-26B which is freeware on the XPlane.org site (https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php...tary-aircraft/). This is an experiment to see if I could take my FSX plane and port it over to XPlane 11.40. It has worked rather well and I will continue to update it.

Some Screen shots of my P-40 in development

Here are some screen shots of my P-40 in the early development phase. I am testing the flight characteristics and working an intercept. Still a lot to do including a 3-3 cockpit but it looks promising.

    P-40E WIP shots

Here are a few more shots of the P-40E work in progress. Still lots to do -- maybe by Christmas time. This aircraft is patrolling the Straits of Messina between Sicily and the Italian mainland. AI is flying one of the aircraft and I am flying formation at 310 mph at 12,000 ft. The textures are just temporary textures. I am trying to get the mesh correct and add animations. The cockpit is only 2-D at this point but I started with a series of cockpit shots from a museum P-40E and it certainly has the right feel. I still need an oxygen mask for the pilot. You can black out at 12,000 ft.

One of my favourite aircraft Radioman...particularly in RAF desert scheme with teeth.... it suits it so well

I'm liking what I've seen of version 11.50 of XP... Vulcan mode smooth as silk on my rig and it all looks great. I Like the cloud reflections on water especially...

Nice PBR on the wings in the first shot.

    P-40E WIP shots

I just converted over to 11.50 with Vulcan and it is looking great on both the P-40E and the B-26B. I am getting 120 frames per second and it is very smooth. I have finally got the P-40E air parameters worked out where it seems to fly close to spec and it is a lot of fun to fly. However, it is a WWII fighter and it can bite you if you are not paying attention. It is actually surprising to fly. Below 15,000 ft and below 250 mph it seems to out perform both a Bf-109 and a P-51D. It is certainly not a high altitude aircraft as it really struggles above 20,000 ft.

Wiki says that the critical altitude of the "E" was around 12000 ft.

And interestingly enough, soviet P-40 drivers say that it was indeed a match for Bf-109s until the later stages of the war.

VSKYLABS' He-162 is a boatload of fun and only costs $25 at the moment! And it can kill its pilot by all means possible.
