I ended up spending most of my day photographing everything with stitching in mind Ferry!
Today was one of those 'perfect' Winter days we often get down at the bottom of Oz, no wind, no clouds and very clear atmosphere.
Of course, Sunset is around 17:00 and the Sun is relatively low on the horizon, on the plus side there are nice dramatic oblique shadows as the days wears on.

Off next week to have a look at a tripod or three..........

Well, I need to read the manual (not that there is one!) as I'm trying to work out the various presets, getting there slowly. This is only three images stitched and I'm working on alignment and overlaps.
If the weather is really good I'm taking myself up to the head of the King Falls later this week, aside from the falls and the gorge they fall into, the sweeping views of Port Phillip have potential.
I told Sofie that you influenced me Ferry...........
Edit: Found out how to get a nice clean join with straighter lines!

The trouble with this program is that it is additive! I'm just getting way too ambitious as this panorama of the old Hastings Pier shows, and this is cropped and resized down to half size.
Just FTR, this was shot toward the end of June on the shortest day of the year at low tide.
And this the 'Winter Solstice'..........more days like this please.
Next trial, Diamond Bay!
That will be a serious test as capturing both points as well as lining up the incoming waves should be hard.

Edit: Yes indeed, joining waves is a real headache!!!!!

Those are nice pictures, well exposed and composed. I assume that you do not have Photoshop. It does panos with ease.

I really dislike Adobe in it's present form John.
ICE has been great as a learning experience and I'm looking for a suitably advanced program, Autopano Giga 4.0 (odd name but looks well featured) gets a reasonable review (except for cost) so maybe a trial is in order.
Today was another Winter day spent photographing big surf and inlets at high tide, I'll get those waves lined up eventually!

Have you looked at On1? I use to use it and it was good. They are trying to become the Photoshop alternative. I do not know if the present version does panos, however. I use the PS-LR subscription and am perfectly happy with it. Photoshop has really been adding new features to the program. I have pretty much stopped using add-ons, except for NIK sharping and Topaz DeNoise.
