    "Spitfire - Shoreham to Beachy Head"

    Today's little flightsim break from B-25 development had me taking the newly-released P3DV4 A2A Spitfire from Shoreham over to Beachy Head and back. The aircraft is of course stunning, and there are some improvements over the original FSX release - I really like the newly appointed pilot, with period-correct and detailed flying gear. The exterior glass materials look very refined now as well/very realistic.

    Excellent shots!
    But back to the B-25 now..

    Hi John, great shots. I'll have to pick up the update. Now, OT, did I miss something, as you mention B-25 development, was development of the P-39 dropped?

    Thank you guys, I'm glad you like the shots!

    Sundog, the P-39 development hasn't been dropped (and it is very far advanced), but it has temporarily shifted to a more/less back burner for the time being. My main focus has been thrust toward the B-25J this year. Other than it having been a background project in the works for Warbirdsim for a while (mainly research/resource gathering), I was commissioned late last year to produce some digital artwork/screen captures of some specific B-25J's for a book, with a tentative deadline set for the end of this year to have it finished. I've been working completely from the original NAA blueprint drawings and I completed the basic airframe (using the ordinates of the real aircraft) some weeks ago, and lately I've been working on the more detailed aspects. I'm hoping to start texturing the model by the end of next month. The immediate variant I'm working to produce is the glass-nosed B-25J, both stock and restored variants (with some of the post-WWII modifications, such as the collector rings and larger Bendix carb scoops among the features), but I plan on eventually doing the gunship-J, the H and TB-25N as well. It will be released for FSX/P3D when an internal model/VC is completed. Now that another school year is over, I have three work-free months to spend on the project full-time.

    (I also looked into doing an earlier variant too (such as the B/C or D), but there are an awful lot of differences, more so than is obvious. Just cross-checking the ordinates between the B-25D fusleage and J fuselage, the majority of the rear half of the fuselage is quite surprisingly different in design/shaping as well.)

    That's outstanding! One day, when you don't have anything else to do (ha!) you should throw the NA-98X into the mix as well, just for fun. The version that flew, that is, although I do like the single tailed version as well.
