    Windows 7

    Just a general question.

How many are still using Win7?

    How many are on Win10?

I added Windows 10 in a dual boot configuration with my old faithful Windows 7 on my dedicated flight sim PC and all was fine until a Windows 10 creators update bricked both and I had to reinstall Windows 7, all my flight sims and all my other supporting software.

Now I am a dedicated Windows 7 user, since I have neither the time nor patience to do deal with all the problems caused by Windows 10 updates.

I have always believed you don't upgrade the major release version on your system, but if your starting with a blank slate or getting a new system then go with the latest.

My previous system was W7 and it upgraded itself to W10 and at the time I had no reason to switch back, but eventually it degraded to the point it was unusable.

Now the new machine which I have had for almost a year came with W10 and I have no complaints.

Just FYI. Mine is Windows XP Pro with all 3 service packs by hand. That machine is NEVER on the internet. No problems.

Windows10, without any major problems. Actually some display problems were miraculously solved by W10

Win 7, if it ain't broke don't fix... That and the obsessive badgering to upgrade by MS when 10 was released really put me off.

Ditto, really....though all 5 lesser machines are on 10.

4 computers on Windows 10. My main sim computer has had Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 on it (each clean installs). Have run FSX, FSX-SE, Rise of Flight, DCS, XPlane 10, P3Dv3, and P3Dv4 on Windows 10 with problems only with FSX.

Currently running FSX-SE, ADE, ModelConverterX, and Instant Scenery on my Windows 10 development computer with no issues.

All computers are fully up to date with Creators Edition and updates are automatically applied every week.

PS I also do not run P3Dv4 or other addons as admin or in compatibility mode....no need to.

True statement: all the benchmarking I've done, Windows 8.1 had the best performance numbers.

Windows 10 from new on a new PC. It has had all the updates too as well and I've had no problems with it.

Except at the beginning when I had to look up and find some applications that were missing from W10. Other than that it's been excellent.

I have 3 desktops I built. 1 runs W7 Ultimate, 1 W7 Pro, and 1 W10 Pro. Nothing that is flightsim related is on the W10 machine.

I freaking HATE W10, even with clamshell installed.

My self-built desktop (CAD/CAM and P3Dv4) runs Win7 Pro, while my wife's 16 month old Dell laptop runs Win10 Home. I spend way more time fixing the crap that breaks on her Win10 machine every time something/anything updates on it. Still trying to figure out how I can bill MS for the time I waste fixing their latest OS foulups!

Win 10 pro here, upgrade from Win 7. No problems, although I still prefer the Win 7 interface.

Win7 - until I get VR higher res. sometime down the track, then see what's applicable then.
