O/T RAF Missing Crew Memorial

Today I did a 20kms walk around home and I saw a Memorial dedicated to a missing RAF Halifax crew at Longvilliers, about 50kms south of Paris. Halifax MZ604 MP-W of No 76 squadron was shot down in the night of june 2-3 1944 by a night fighter on it's way back home from a bombing mission over the rail yard of Trappes. 6 of the crew members were killed, only one survived and was made prisoner.

It is so sad but I'm happy that memory of these young men are kept alive.

Interesting and I believe not the only memorial being looked after still. According to the Nachjagd War Diaries V.2, there is some confusion between the narrative there and the list also there, The narrative credits a Hptm. Autenreith of 6/NJG4 (Longvilliers area) while the list indicates it could have been one of 2 other NJG4 pilots ( in the Mantes-Rambouillet area). The memorial tends to support Autenrieth.
That squadron lost 3 Halifaxes at least that night.
