    Ok, I just popped that effect and this is results:



    Little ploom effect (red circle) in AB trail. Low burn on my end is a purple swirl.
    I'll send that later.

    Don't have those issue you are having and anyone else using P3Dv3? Probably not.

    Deleted the unused parts I had left in there.

    Try this and change file .txt to .fx maybe zip file is doing something to mess it up.

    I do detect in your last vid small flame tips around the exhaust ring, my yellow ring has a smooth edge. I don't get that effect.

    I'd like to know what is the criteria for a light entry and a smoke entry?
    In the old FSX cfg entry this was acceptable:

    light.3 = 9, -18.00, 0.15, 0.15, fx_ALPHA_F8_TF_AB //Logo Lights

    now it is a smoke candidate. I could understand it being a light entry but a smoke entry?

    In trying to keep the explanation as simple as possible, think of these entries in the aircraft.cfg [effects], [lights], and [smokesystem] as effects launchers.

    The effects that are launched under [effects] are normally built into the model, such as touchdown, engine start, water and dirt spray. Light effects will need a number applied to them to indicate which light is turned on when the appropriate switch is flicked, light.0= 2, xx,yy, zz, fx_strobe.fx which is the strobe light.

    Smoke.0= xx, yy, zz, fx_f-8_AB.fx [smokesystem] can launch any effect, light, smoke, fireworks, etc. as long as you provide correct coordinates.

    I have used both [lights] and [smokesystem] to have guns fire on several of my aircraft.

    For the life of me don't know why the issues since it work perfectly for me. Are you using any other AB effects attached to this AB effects? And is anyone else having the same issues you are havings? Seems lack of anyone commenting on this is I hope a good sign. P3Dv3 is pita it seems for effects. It's time to dump P3Dv3... cause I'm deleting it.

    Have you tried to add the F-14 AB effects?

    Have you tried to add the F-14 AB effects?
    The F-14 was Dino's and he Baked in the lights into the MDL.

    I am at a crossroads with filght sims with P3D V4.5 and a possible V5 and rumors of MS 2020. I have a relatively new rig with a HD sector reserved for the next Sim be it from
    LM or MS.

    Back in Jan of this year, I ditched FSX when I got a new rig that my son built for me. I have P3d V3.4 on a sepaerate HD and as I said earlier a Sector on my main HD reserved for the
    next Sim. If I jump in now for 4.5 then, with my luck, V5 will be out and most likely all or most of my addon's I can toss them as they won't work = ($$$$) ching... ba da bing.
    I have a few addons that will work with V 4.5 not all but some. I've been playing catch up with this stuff since FS5

    As far as the AB effects go for my P3D V3.4 I can just live with it the way it is and just move on.
    Appreciate you going out of your way and spending your time on an issue I have. I thank you for that.

    I may go with what charlie (Mr Zippy) was using or JFTO was using.
    Ya know....It sure is strange that Henk can up with an AB effect for the F-8 albeit a little small on the diameter of the ring size and works with P3D V3.4

    Was you using P3D4 all this time for your beta tests?

    FWIW I use a GeForce GX 1060 6GB Vid board

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3192 MHz
    CPU Type 6x , 3200 MHz
    Motherboard Name MSI Z370 PC PRO (MS-7B49)

    I know you can buy this stuff today and tomorrow is old news.

    I have Nvidia inspector set up per suggestions I've seen on UTube.

    I had to use the printscreen so that the flames effect could be captured. If I pause P3D then AB flames are gone and bright yellow ring is there.


    No AB flame trail this time either.

    Since you where using P3Dv3 I reinstall it to test the AB effects and I did like the Cloud shadow effects and Dynamic lighting in the sim. I mostly fly props so jets weren't in my hangar.
    I installed the Milviz F-100 to see how the AB effects worked and it too is pooping flames. FSX-SE which I use doesn't have any AB issues.

    We will see what P3Dv5 or MSFS bring to the table but the MSFS latest videos are stunning.

    So, for now, I just do some limited painting on some of my favorite aircraft and do a couple of commission work that comes my way which I just did artwork for an author release Military adventure books.

    Anyways here is the F-100 in P3Dv3.

    I reinstalled EVERYTHING dealing with the V2 F-8 and I think I have your effects. It sure resembles what you have in your videos.

    That looks good Ted,In your video #215, I thought that full burner would have all the color i.e. reds/blues/orange. I don't remember it being white hot in full AB.

    The only difference is I removed the deactivated stuff but essentially the same. Just rename the .txt to .fx.

    Anyways none of these AB effects are really realistic, shouldn't be able to see dark areas and a little flicker of flames not at the speed the exhaust thrust is moving in the real deal.

    Probably can copy from another AB effect that has the orange color.

    The Aerosoft F-14 doesn't use rings in the tubes just fireballs nor does it light the rear plate. That's how Aerosoft got around the issue in P3Dv3.

    Just FYI, the F-14 I posted here was DINO's F-14 and he put the AB (lights) effects inside the MDL so there are no external effect files.

    Anyways none of these AB effects are really realistic, shouldn't be able to see dark areas and a little flicker of flames not at the speed the exhaust thrust is moving in the real deal.

    Probably can copy from another AB effect that has the orange color.

    As an aside, I see that the "L" key will not effect the AB effect as it is in the smoke section; where before in the Lights section the "L" key had an affect.
