    Acceleration Activation Issues Solution for Windows 10

    I was having issues with Acceleration Activation in not presenting a way to enter the product key when I moving FSX/A (DVD version) to a Windows 10 platform.

    There is an article in the latest PC Pilot (#113) that described instructions that worked for me.

    The instructions are:

    1. In windows, open the Registry Editor "regedit". Type regedit in the search box on the windows 10 lower left corner.
    2. Expand the following registration key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM|CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4d36e967-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
    3. After opening the folder, double click "Upperfilters" on the right side.
    4. Change the value to "PartMgr" and then click okay. "PartMgr" is case-sensitive.
    5. Close the Register Editor, reboot and then reload Acceleration and use the activation wizard.

    This worked for me. No guarantees that it will work for anyone else but it may be worth a try if you have issues.

    Note that changing entries in the "regedit" can have unintended consequences and one should always have a back up.
