While all the above aircraft use the same basic airframe, there are differences in armament fit, carburetor filters and engines. Each production sub-type of the tropicalized Mk.Vc is portrayed here with the exception of the locally-modified Aboukir filter type - which used the same Vokes filter, but did not include the added engine-oil capacity of the standard filter.

Each model accurately reflects these differences, including the fact that the tropicalized versions performed less well than non-tropicalized because of increased drag and slightly increased weight.

We have tried to provide as varied a collection as possible, but in the case of the later aircraft equipped with Merlin 50-series engines, very little information is available. Most of these aircraft were sent direcly to Australia, so examples which served in the Mediterranean, with photographic evidence, are already few and far-between.

All skins are based on photographs rather than profiles, as we have found many profiles to range frpm pure fantasy to simply wildly inaccurate. For your interest, we have included where possible some of the photographs which have inspired this collection.
