    AF Scrubs Boeing P-26 Peashooter

    Nice little airplane, but could use a paint kit upgrade and some VC updating. Also, if you've downloaded it and tried to start it you noticed after a brief search of the Aircraft.cfg file that the fuel section lacks any fuel tank info. I found that the airplane carried 88gal internal and could also carry 2 external tanks with 43gals each. For now I just added one center tank with 88 gals so I can fly it.

    I played with it today and discovered the same issue, read that one version had a 107 gallon tank, it’s got a fuel selector gauge that has 3 positions so not sure which 3 tanks to add. Added one cenrer1 tanked and it worked ok. Flys nice, serious nose over threat on landing, textures do need an update.

    Searching the internet I found information on the P-26A fuel tanks:

    Main tank under cockpit: 55 US gal, 20 gal considered as reserve.

    Aux right and left wing root tanks: 26 US gal each. These tanks could be
    removed if not required.

    This gives a total of 107 US gal, with 87 gal considered normal usage and
    20 gal as reserve.

    LOL, had an elder moment and thought the AF had christened another new warbird the P-26, like a new COIN fighter or other.....

    This is the fuel section in the .cfg file for Wolfi's P-26 for FS2004, available at the Outhouse of all places:

    [fuel]

    //Longitudinal (feet), Lateral (feet), Vertical (feet), Usable(gallons), Unusable (gallons)

    fuel_type =1
    number_of_tank_selectors =1
    electric_pump =1
    Center1= 0.000, 0.000, 0.000, 55.000, 0.000
    LeftMain= 0.000, 2.300, -1.200, 26.000, 0.000
    RightMain= 0.000, -2.300, -1.200, 26.000, 0.000
    //External1=-2.100000,0.000000,-3.300000,87.200000,0.000000

    As you can see it does total up to 107 gallons just like llanning08 says.
    I have found that when one tries to convert a plane for FSX the fuel section comes out either non-existent or way off.
    Hope this helps

    Other areas that I found missing: Fuel Section (already mentioned above), Radio Section, Electrical Section, Airplane Geometry (these based on what I wanted in the airplane, individual requirements may vary). I also had to adjust the tail wheel contact point as it was sitting on the fairing rather than the wheel itself. There is a section that calls for both Nav lights, both beacons (tail and belly) and VC. I don't do much night flying so the VC is of no concern to me, but I will take a look at the Nav lights to see if possibly they are buried in the wing somewhere. The belly beacon is there but the tail beacon is inside the vertical stab and needs to be moved.

    I add a Com/Nav Radio (from the Alpha B-57), an ADF Radio (same airplane) and an Autopilot (also from the B-57). On the gauge panel I removed the fuel selector switch (already one fwd of the stick) and added an MP gauge and I moved the top row of gauges to the right slightly and added an ADF gauge. I deleted the "Main Panel" (don't use those) the ADF Radio pop-up and made a new Radio Stack pop-up to reflect the radios that were added.

    There may be more, but right now I'm also redoing the exterior textures to 4096x4096-DDS which is a WIP.

    NOTE_The contact points, adjustments to engine information, radio section, Fuel Section and Electrical section were all done with the advice of Bill (WND) who is much more familiar with these areas. I'm generally a flyer, not a tweaker. Thanks Bill!
