I will be buying v4 in the next month or two and I'm wondering if I should invest in a new pc (specs of existing pc shown below)? Budget would be around £3000-£5000.

Roger, looking at the specs in your signature, i would not upgrade. It’s at the lower end but the video card is fine and for P3D4 it may be the most important part.

I am serious, and stop calling me Shirley.
Thanks Joe, I'll think about it more, but I quite like the idea of a total upgrade for just the one sim.

FWIW Roger, you might try and hold off for Intel to get their '8th Generation' chips sorted out.
Maybe upgrade your Graphics but the newest chips look promising enough IMHO to see how long before the Mobo manufacturers catch up and Intel figure out a rational designation system.
BTW, your Test Team really sucks!!!!!

Roger,
Completely concur with this statement. As someone that jumped the gun a bit on getting the latest and greatest, I was (am) a bit underwhelmed with my current i9 chipset versus the price paid for her. With everything I upgraded too, it is indeed a beautiful machine, but the current release of i9's and their price point, leaves much to be desired, in my opinion. Some of my games run absolutely stunningly but I have had to turn done much of what I assumed to be able to run with max sliders in P3Dv4 to about 75% across the board. I think with more and more reviews coming forth with less than stellar reviews, Intel will listen and adjust accordingly their price per chipset and future releases.
Just my opinion too....

Thanks Matt, more food for thought.

Today it's all about the i7 8700K. 6 cores, 12 threads and 12 MB of cache. Delidded should get you to 5.0Ghz. Include in some fast memory (3600+). A strong motherboard (high end ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI... whichever you prefer). Throw in some fast M.2 storage goodness. Since your budget is healthy, spec out a custom water cooling system. Run the 1070 at first... until the Volta cards hit the market.
Have fun!
