    Assetto Corsa Redux

Noddy's original thread was getting rather lengthy so I took it upon myself to fire up a new one.

I do like Classic Jaguars and these work rather well, the 1938 Donington circuit is a decent venue for them.

Not a Jaguar but as I owned a big Healy in a previous life I had to have this one.

The F5000 mod is really good, shame it seems to be ignored by the re painters.

Decades ago Andy Granatelli (who was conned by Chunky!) came out for the Tasman series with a Lotus 70 Ford that looked stunning in STP colours but was a complete dog on the track.

Despite some 'interesting' handling the 1937-1938 Grand Prix mod is one that I'm getting caught up in.
The ERA is one that appeals to me.

And now for a little stupidity!

    Thanks Ferry,

The fact I recognised the Benetton still sponsored by Camel, made me realise I'm getting really old.

    Cheers,

Yep, 1991... Started watching F1 the next year, think it was the Spanish Grand Prix. The all-conquering Williams FW14B with Mansell and Patrese behind the wheel.
Didn't realize until I bought the Haynes Manual about that car that it already had flexing front wings and a form of DRS (By using the active suspension) back in 1992!

Not going to admit to my F1 beginnings, one could say it was a time when the drivers were fat and the tyres were skinny!
More AC silliness, but certainly one of the better freelance mods.

Plenty of oversteer but quite recoverable.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is my main interest (and Laguna Seca of course!) as I test drove one under the eagle eye of the dealer......
No way could I push the car at all, so the virtual one will do for the time being.
To be honest, I'm a bit 'off' AC, but I've been culling a lot of content that is of no interest to me (just me, myself) and so far no problems.
Anything removed is backed up of course.
While many of the freely available mods are outstanding I've found a lot that are disappointing, but as they cost nothing I can't really complain.
More of these would be great but that is just wishful thinking on my part.

    F3/F2 Tecno.

    F3/F2 Matra.
Whoever put this pair together was a traditionalist, just right for my jaded self.

And thanks for the link Noddy, I'm off to check it out.

PS: Done and dusted. Some nice subjects but not all that cheap, then again, better to pay and if it's not up to scratch one can complain....maybe.
Really need to put up an 'English' language section on the site, it is the universal sales language.

Worth it Noddy, even sounds good!
Shame they lacked imagination when it came to paint schemes, the yellow ENB car always looked good.
However, it is a very well done mod, easily up with the best.
    Thank you for the link.

The Austen Healy 3000 and the Jaguars (XK120 and D-Type) are here: https://www.facebook.com/assettocorsacarmods/?fref=ts
There is an E type available as well but it's not very good, for starters the stance is off, the rear end sits too high and it sounds like a V8!
You'll need to join the group and scroll right down the page to find the cars you are wanting.
Downloading is a right PITA but I guess it's a minor detail considering 99% of the offerings are free.
    Go for it.

Still enjoying AC a lot, even though the steering with my Logitec pad is a never ending cause of frustration.

After the Ferrari pack I hoped for an Alfa one and therefore the bonus pack 3 will be a must have for me, I have a (very) weak spot for the Quattroporte, too.

    Hoi Ferry,

still following here, but real life has a firm grip on me.

Concerning my non-sim carparc I can't live without Italien style. After the commercial death of Lancia I reluctantly turned to Alfa and - what can I say - was rather impressed. Thus now owning a Giulietta tourismo super and a limited edition Mito racer and enjoying every ride.

Really looking forward to the new cars for AC. Maybe a classic italian pack next with some Lancias etc after all these Porsche packs just dreaming.

Hey Alex, the Alfa's are really nice looking cars, and technically quite similar to the Bravo and Punto. My Punto had to go last year, as it was just too unhandy to use in daily life due to the medical condition of my girlfriend.
I now own a very nice Kia Soul so she can have her higher seating and bigger luggage space for a wheelchair, I now have a bit more power, a very nice stereo and a car that feels less nervous on the highway.
Shame Fiat doesn't have anything in that class, only thing that comes close is the Suzuki/Fiat SX4/Sedici.

Ferry, just because I hold Hyundai and KIA in high regard (great build quality, value, 7 year warranty and capped service cost, clever design!) I had a look at the Stinger when they launched it in Australia.
    I'd buy one!!!!!!!
The top of the line model is around the sticker price of 'entry level' Mercedes, Audis and BMWs, and is capable of giving the now dying breed of local V8 Fords and Commodores the short back and sides.
Styling is very pretty and if they made a two door model I would really be tempted, as the Volvo is due for replacement.
FTR, both Alfa and FIAT have made a serious come back in Oz, and about time too.
