    Preview window question

    Hi Flyers.

I have noticed in P3d when your browsing the aircraft a preview image of the AC appears in the box spinning. Often the image is far away or very high so its hard to see it. Does anyone know how to adjust that?

    Thanks in advance.

There's a piece of software called RADItor (http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=RADItor). It's free software, and I've used this in the past to re-position and size the a/c in the preview window in P3D. I found it to be more an art than a science though in defining the properties, but it did work great in the end.

Yes, use RADitor as mentioned above. It's the "radius" that affects the distance, and the other bounding box values affect the up/down left/right position.
Simplest way to find good values it's to open a similar sized aircraft that displays correctly and then copy the values. Alternatively you can set all the bounding box values to zero and just at the radius, although there may be some issues with crash detection not working properly if you do that (not seen any problems myself though).
Make sure you back up the mdl before making any changes!

Thanks for the info. While I have become confident updating .cfg files, .mdl files still make me nervous. But I will experiment with it, thank you.

Make a back up copy of the cfg file before you mess with it, then you'll have the original safe and sound. It also gves you something to compare to.
