Great work on the Buffalo paints
but a big oups, I forgot to include the tankers. Expect an update tomorrow, currently travelling again..
You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to
I just uploaded all the tanker textures, you'll find them as separate downloads with the original posts.

Just finished the second built Carvair in a series of "Channel" Carvair re-paints ...
Cheers,
Rob
After adjusting the nose section, also finished the re-paint of "prototype" Carvair 1 in it's original Channel Air Bridge livery.
Rob.
The Danish C-54D has been uploaded here at the SoH, enjoy! (Sorry for the delay)

Repainting since FS5..
Getting an error message when uploading the paint; "file size is to large". The file is 13MB in zip format. Do any have any ideas?

Repainting since FS5..
Rob. Very nice paints. Are they posted anywhere? Many thanks JJDC
Still busy with the details ...
... such as the fuselage ice protecting sheet, to prevent ice particles thrown from the prop damaging the fuselage.
... and adding the overwing fuel fill covers.
The various liveries will be uploaded within a few weeks, most likely on flightsim.com and SOH.
cheers,
Rob
Hi,
I really enjoy Mike's excellent DC-4 and I finally found the time to create the liveries that I had on my to-do list. I hope you like them!

Great work! I just love that Eastern Airlines paint. Thanks very much.
Great work Tim! Like the Alaska repaint very much.
Many thanks Tim for the great Alaska Airlines textures
Now for something of a different nature ....
Because the original install is HUGE , what's the best way to reduce the original texture folder sizes (averaging 300+ Mb per texture) and have a shared common texture?
I've noted your Alaska texture folder is a fraction of the size of the original texture folders and it has a 'texture.cfg' .....
[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture.AA
fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\textur e
I've also installed 'Douglas C54G-DC Brooks Fuel N708Z' , and it also is a fraction of the size with a different number of dds files plus a shared texture.cfg, although slightly different wording from the Alaska one above.
Is it possible to have one common texture folder to cover all 6 aircraft?
And what's the best way to go about it?
Thanks,
Pete.
Two cents. It's easy to get the texture.cfg wrong, I did it myself many times. So did the ACES team for the default planes. That fallback.3 line copies their error, pointing exactly nowhere. Fallback.2 does point to an existing folder, but it's very unlikely that there is a useful a/c texture there. Then again, what is really needed, and what isn't there, is a fallback line pointing to ..\..\..\..\Texture because that's where the global environment maps reside that are normally needed for reflection effects (glass and chrome etc). Unless, of course, you are including custom environment maps in your own texture set.
Tim HH, nice work on the Pan American Airways (PAA) paint and very much appreciated. The older liveries were a lot more stylish than the new bland modern colours most airlines have adopted (To save money on repainting the aircraft really.
Thanks Tim for these new airline textures, got them all,lol
Thanks a lot for all the nice comments!
Your posting on page 3 was the main reason why I did the Eastern Air Lines repaint so I'm very happy to hear that you like it
I don't think that it is possible to have one common texture folder for all variants as they all have different virtual cockpits and textures. But you could create a shared texture folder for each variant. The easiest way would possibly be to move the VC textures into the new shared texture folder and adapt the texture.cfg accordingly.
