    Best CD burning program?

I've lost a CD that had a number of screenshots on it. The tech at the computer shop recommended a program called CD Burner XP that burns images onto a CD in lieu of the proprietary software available in the Windows 7 Home Premium package I'm running on my computer. The problem I'm running into is my Avira anti-virus shows the CDBurnerXP.se website to be a virus/malware website. This may be a false positive but in lieu of this morning's news about Kaspersky I'm inclined to take another look elsewhere first for similar software.

Does anyone know of a decent freeware program that will copy screenshots from the "pictures" library to a CD?

The best tool out there and neither Antivir nor Firefox complain about the website.

I've been using ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) for several years and find it meets my needs and it's FREE!

Thanks, Sue. That link you sent me resulted in the first download since I began this thread where my AV program didn't ping on it. We'll install it and see what happens. I'll read the manual but I may want to ask you a few "reality" questions before I start.

EDIT: I'm up and running. I'm not installing audio, of course; but what are screenshots considered to be - a "data CD?"

Well there are 3 types of CD / DVD. Audio. Data. And ISO. So your screenshots must be 'Data' (bmp, jpg). I use 'DeepBurner'. It works for CD or DVD on *x-R, *x-RW, type (but not on *+R, *+RW) plus DVD-Ram. For Home user it's Free. It's only 2.7 Mb. There’s Ashampoo Burning Studio Free if you don’t mind the soapy interface and bubbles.

+1 on this. I've tried many freeware CD burning apps and this seems to be the most reliable. It's quite comprehensive but has a very simple menu system. Better than some payware apps I've bought.

Like I've said: Absolutely no complaints here.

Try an alternate download source. I can find a dozen or so on trusted sites (all in German though).

I don't get the need to use anything that Windows doesn't do. I always use Explorer to burn a CD or DVD. I also use NOD 32. If you get a hit with your AntiVirus and you know the site to be safe just shut it down and save it to your desktop, then start your protection back and scan it.
