    What causes this?

Has anyone got a clue what causes this funny looking anomaly with the trim tabs? I've seen it on two versions of the F6F-3.
    F6F3_HELLCAT_OH and F6F3_HELLCAT_VF-19.

It's come up in conversation, but I've never seen an explanation of what causes it or how to resolve it.

It appears to me that the wrong animation tag may have been used. When I see this, that has been my issue. When it happens, the trim tab just rotates around the axis until the limit is reached or you let off the trim button.

Never seen the tabs move in CFS2.... Thought CFS2 didn't support them.

It may not but does it support elevator trim adjustments in the cockpit?

CFS2 does support elevator trim tabs, rudder too iirc. Not sure about roll though, i think it does not from my distant memory, but don't quote me on that.

Yes. Turn the num lock off and the number keys adjust elevator, rudder and aileron trim. Whether you see the tabs move or not, probably depends on the .mdl file.

Milton is correct. CFS2 does support elevator trim tabs, but only the elevator.

Worthless, do you have some sort of autopilot engaged? I ask because the sim uses trim to keep the aircraft at the desired heading/alt/etc.

    Yes and no

JD....Well if you mean did I add a trim control to the 2d panel, then the answer is yes. But I've tried deleting the add-on with only the mixed result that the tabs show in a different position. Not flush with the elevator and still WEIRD. Never seen this on any other AC. I tried an experiment to see if changing out the MDL file would produce a remedy.
I've got several different versions of the F6F-3 OH with models from year 2006. The problem seems to occur with the latest version dated 9/29/2006.

    OH_Hellcat B24 Guy...f6f3_HELLCAT.MDL.....size 1835 KB .....dated 9/9/2006

    OH_Update_Oct06...f6f3_HELLCAT.MDL.....size 1835 KB......dated 9/29/2006

Substituting in it's place the earlier OH 9/9/2006 model appears to resolve this issue, though what other collateral issues may occur from changing to the older version, I don't care to speculate.
