Where can one find 'momentum effect'?
Cees
Hi Cees,
Navigate to:
USERS/OWNER(or whatever you call yourself)/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX/
then look for the FSX.cfg file and open it in Notepad.
Travel down the list until you see [DynamicHeadMovement]
0 (zero) all entries under that title and save the cfg.
Next time you run FSX, the dynamic head movement will be cancelled.
Yes fixed it for me too.
Thanks Chris
Instead of zero-ing all the constants, one can also change them.
at this moment i use the following;
[DynamicHeadMovement]
LonAccelOnHeadLon=-0.0100//-0.020000
LonAccelOnHeadPitch=-0.00500//-0.010000
RollAccelOnHeadLat=0.0050//0.010000
YawAccelOnHeadLat=-0.050//-0.100000
RollAccelOnHeadRoll=0.100000
MaxHeadAngle=2.5000//5.000000
MaxHeadOffset=0.300000
HeadMoveTimeConstant=.3//1.000000

Well being an Otter fan, I succumbed and got this one, just to be rid of the other FSX variety. Favourably impressed on a lot of levels, textures, fitout etc. Number of issues for which a ticket has been lodged with JF. Namely flap indicator on glareshield does not operate if flap selected via the lever but does if keycommands used. Flaps retracted when using the pump to pressurise hydraulic reservoir In reality there would be a shutoff valve to prevent this happening in a real hydraulic system).
The AH is inoperative except in roll plane, pitch remains fixed at 20 degree pitch down and bar on AH can not be altered via the dial/switch at the bottom of the AH. (Day VFR only for the time being).
The mysterious oscillation in pitch with prop/power changes evident, not bad but irritating, it is a pitch up and down in the lateral plane for me.
The view from inside to out is not very clear and makes the terrain look fuzzy to me.
Otherwise I really like it, these are minor bugs. Off to try the changes suggested by WIM re the oscillation or bucking.
It sounds like you may not be using the flap control correctly. You select flap status using the switch and then you pump. As you pump you will see the flaps move and indicator will also move to the selected position once you have pumped sufficient pressure. To retract, set the switch to the position required and pump again. You break this code if you use the keystroke.
Not sure what's going on with the AH, it works fine here.
Noted re flaps will try this procedure (read the manual LOL). Still have an issue with the loss of hydraulic pressure to flaps with pump, this would not happen in real life, it would hold the pressure and the setting until more pressure was provided, otherwise you would not be able to retract flaps or would lose flaps with a hydraulic failure.
The AH problem is weird I will admit, not sure why it does this.
No prob with loss of hydraulic pressure here, BF, flaps operate fine either by using the indicator/pumphandle or buttons on my joystick. Same for the AH. Works perfectly here too. You sure you use the mid mouse wheel to operate the attitude calibration knob ?..
(btw, i'm in P3Dv4.. )
cheers,
Jan
I can't find the manual. Could someone please let me know where to download it from.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Tom ,It is in the justflight directory in your main fsx directory.
Cheers Chris
It should also be available from the start menu (Just Flight folder).

Thanks all.
I didn't think to look there. Just getting a little old and slow...grin

OK have the flap issue sorted. The AH seems to have fixed itself after a reload. The jerky throttle response has been fixed after applying the dynamic head movement changes suggested here
My only real criticism is that I do think the overspeed jerking about should be removed. In real life the aircraft (any aircraft actually) would not have started to jump about when the max speed for cruise or for structural damage was exceeded. I know it is an FSX thing but I have never flown an aeroplane that buffeted at the critical VNE speed, they just get over-stressed and are therefore likely to break but they do not behave any differently apart from stiff or heavy controls at high speeds.
Time to get to know this one in flight for awhile.
We'll take a look at the jerking issue to see if it's something that we can resolve/improve.
Thanks

Eye trouble and unsteady hands have stopped me from doing repaints at the moment so I was wondering if anyone is interested in doing some VH-*** Otters.
Cheers

Hi Pat,
The RAAF ones are on my list, assuming nobody beats me to it.

Thanks Mike.

Hi all,
working on the RAAF Otter repaints and i was wondering if anyone could point me to a good sharp image of the 1 Air Trials Unit crest... google has not been my friend so far. I have got a decent shot of the ARDU crest, but I fear it may be different.
All assistance gratefully received.
Mike
this one?
You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to
Yes, that's the one. Trying to find it not as a patch is the trick, but that will do at a pinch - thank you.
This is from a decal pack if it is of any help.
Thats exactly it, Bazzar. Thanks very much!
