    SWS F4B Corral Sea Update

I like SimWorksStudio's updated Corral Sea. This time, you can spawn a yellow tug to tow your aircraft on the Flight Deck. You just use your joy stick to drive the tug where you want.
The tow tug even backs up.

Awesome - so is there an engine that allows this movements for other tug operations, maybe on airbases too? Would really donate this if a small programme like this would be released....
    Best regards, Manfred.

I haven't managed an arrested landing since installing the new version... plane just behaves as if there are no wires there. Anyone else experiencing this?

Matt you should first activate the custom wires using the shortcut on your desktop or Program Files\Simworks Studios.

    See the instructions here:

    Alex,

I'm a little confused, although it looks like that link pertains mainly to the Midway Battle Group, I'm still trying to understand this actication of wires. I looked at the document
and still trying to understand what this is all about. The only shortcut that was was installed was the F4 Configuration, Tackpac/No tackpac. I don't see any other shortcut
pertaining to this activate custom wires.

I'm under the impression that the link is for the Midway Battle Group - is that released? Am I missing something?

Under Program Files\Simworks Studios\Carrier Extensions should be an SWS_CV_EXE file (for which a desktop shortcut should normally exist). I am checking why some didn't get it while it was there during testing to get it straight.

This file is common to the Phantom and Midway pack and allows the custom tech to be activated on your aircraft and trap (similar to the first time you run Tacpack Manager to set up your settings).

    Nope...I didn't get/see a file like that.

Under Program Files\Simworks Studios\Carrier Extensions contains one folder (LSO Sound); No SWS_CV_EXE file there.

What you are writing is in FSX\Simworks studios\Carrier Extensions.

The File is supposes to be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Simworks studios\Carrier Extensions.

    I've installed the SWS F4 Program in P3D V3.4 using my "P" drive;
The installer unpacked files in question to my directory (See below)
    P:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SimWorks Studios\CarrierExtensions

Now, I don't have anything related to SWS or P3D on my C drive -so we can eliminate that.
I have my P3D and all the addons installed to Drive P:
    P:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SimObjects\Airplanes\F-4B Phantom II
    P:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SimObjects\Airplanes\F-4B Phantom II APR-24
    P:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SimObjects\Airplanes\F-4N Phantom II
    P:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SimWorks Studios
    P:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SimWorks Studios\CarrierExtensions

So, you can see that I installed all the SWS program to drive P where my P3D program is.
I still cannot find the file that I am suppose to find.

I assume that P is your main drive where Windows and all your basic programs are installed. If not, then this specific file should be on C. This executable isn't installed in the P3D folder.

Based on the above, look into C or P:\Program Files (x86)\SimWorks Studios\CarrierExtensions or P:\Program Files\Simworks Studios\Carrier Extensions. I am on my phone and don't remember which one of the two it is.

Edit: potential issue found in the installer, that went under the RADAR. Looking into it.

I did all that you mentioned above and even listed the directories where SWS installed files.
I use the P drive just for P3d -( A dedicated Hard drive for P3D), otherwise all of my other programs are installed to my C drive
If it is the installers fault, how can we obtain the missing file(s) ?

We are looking to verify the problem and will send out a new installer this week, before Midway is released.

    Thanks Alex

None of the carrier extension files got installed for me either... at least explains why things didn't work for me.

So do you get the tug update for free with the Coral sea that came with the Phantom?or to get the new features do you have to buy the new Midway carrier group addon?

Do the elevators work at all for fsx?I know they work for P3d,but do they work on a timer like Javier's Nimitz in FSX?

  21. #21
In FSX only Elevator #2 is active and sometimes even #2 wont work because FSX has an issue with moving platforms.

Here is a link to the SimWorks studios Youtube channel for some tutorials:

Will the flight deck tractor smash your airplane into the Nav pole, or ground support equipment, during a deck respot like they do in real life?

  24. #24
Period correct "blue shirts" with minimal training, then again they are moving real (non-composite) metal around on a smaller, worn-out non skid flight deck. It's quite entertaining to move your own jet backwards on the elevator in sim, only had to ride brakes real world.
