The Flight 1 BN-2 Islander has always intrigued me, but is it worth the cost? Wish I could find it cheaper. NC

Just FYI, have a look at one of euroastar's projects:– https://www.facebook.com/joeytrislandervirtual/

Definitely worth it. Just my personal opinion, obviously, but it's a great package. The flight dynamics, sounds, and selection of freeware liveries make it definitely worthwhile. You get scenery with the Islander, too - two small UK airfields. Your best bet is probably purchasing the Islander from PCAviator during their weekly 10% off Tuesdays....save a few dollars as opposed to buying direct from Flight1.
Good luck.

Also works in P3Dv4
Shameless plug. Work in progress for all versions of FSX and P3D including V4 as shown. And best of all, it will set you back a cool $0.00 USD with all the options I'm putting into it including GNS and GTN integration, systems, failures and more
I'm with the FAA and I'm here to help you.....................Now gimme a hug!
Still waiting for a sale on this. Not worth $40, to me, anyway. NC
i had bought it some time ago and have enjoyed it,but i didnt pay any 40 bucks for it,im looking forward to eurostars version now
I just installed it into P3Dv4 on Win 8.1 from my boxed copy that Flight1 sent us all at Virtavia years ago. And everything works.
I thought I had read in the Flight1 forum someone asking that it be updated for P3Dv4. My copy is the original boxed version
(v1.6 at that time). I'm not sure what the current version is which is why I was wondering it if worked in v4. I have no doubt
it will work in FSX-SE and earlier versions of P3D as well. Now if it could be updated to take the GTN750 or 650 GPS gauge in
the VC that would be really cool.
Edit: After more flying it appears the KLN 90 GPS (which we tested for many hours and flights) does not work in P3D v4.
Hello NavyChief,
this Islander is a perfect rendition of this little rugged airplane in FSX!!!
I have a lot of fun each time I jump in it...
It is worth every single penny!!!
Cheers,
Stéph.
I have F1 Islander and Black Box sim Islander, both are good and works well in Prepar3d v5.
Black Box sim?

I don't have it, as I'm perfectly happy with the Flight1 version....but the BlackBox Simulations version is another payware alternative.

Here's a nice review (and history lesson) on the Flight1 BN-2. An interesting video no matter what brand you end up with.

If you go with Flight1 I made the panel and visor color mods he refers to here: http://www.mirage4fs.com/Alphasim/index.html#BN-2

May I also point out that the Flight1 Islander can be pimped up by the AccuSim-like DamageMod by yours truly? This mod adds wear and damage for most systems. For FSX and P3Dv4.
Available from here : http://library.flight1.net/?p=11388
You might be interested to know that Flight1 currently has the Islander available at 30% discount - only at their own webshop as far as I know.
