Having trouble with FRAPS it works with other games, but for some reason it works only occasionally with P3D V4. Any thoughts?

If you have a NVIDIA card, you would be better off with the Shadowplay function, a part of the NVIDIA driver software.
Just a thought.

That could be a possibility.
Why You need the Fraps? For movie or screenshots?
In P3Dv4 - screenshot is "V" key, for movie Win+G (if You have Windows 10 or direct Win key+Alt+R to record)
