I'm pleased for you at last. Though the seems a lot of pfaffing about to get that Edtracker calibrated and it amazes me that you had such issues with the others which imho are much simpler to get up and running.

    Hey Dave,

glad you mentioned that. Does it follow the head motions smoothly? I might buy one of these, too. I like the simplicity and the technical solution.

    Cheers,

it took a little playing with the mapping, but overall was very simple to setup get working in p3d and it is very smooth.im very happy with it.not as good as my old trackir, but with edtracker,i dont have to have my room totally dark.being a depressed person, chronic, being in the dark is really hard to deal with.

Thanks, Dave, seems like a done deal now. I had NoTrackIR for a while, but changing lighting conditions always were a problem with it.

I have never heard of this one before. I have to say I am a bit tired of my old Trakir thats held together with masking tape and coat hanger wire .

I noticed it has only 3 degree of movement , can't slide along the x axis or raise your head up or down nor zoom in . At the moment Im not using trakir but I get the same effect as Ed tracker if I put a weight on the space bar and use my mouse . You need to lift it off if you want to mouse a switch or lever of course but hey, its free.

Can you tell me Dave, if your using a camera program like ECZA or Chaseplane , does it work in different camera views . I would think it would but best ask.

Im on the edge of getting this . What attracts me is that it looks very stable and strong compared to trakir . Tired of constantly correcting trakir,

Oh another question can you use the mouse zoom in/out

    Cheers

have the "edtracker pro" software, and "opentrack",open track is used to actually work in p3d,but you start with the edtracker pro software.mine goes up and down, side to side, and there are instructions for making it emulate the true 6 way tracking.that wasnt very stable when i tried it,so i just have the 3-way,but its good for me..i dont know about the zoom in and out though.sorry

I think it is no real drawback if you can't zoom in or out by head movement. You can map that function on a button on the stick and control it manually, this is maybe better anyhow so you have more control over it and don't have to move around so much.

Can't wait until that one arrives!

Just finished my first flight in P3DV4,A2A Texan, with my new EdTracker Pro wireless. I had the Pro wired version and it seems that the wireless version is smoother, although it could be that I have it set up better! This sure makes the immersion so much better than no head tracking.

I never had any other head tracking unit so cannot compare but must say that I am more than satisfied with the EdTracker Pro wireless.

The wireless tracker finally arrived and I mounted it on top of a baseball cap with the velcro pieces that it came with. Installed everything (+ Opentrack 2.3.9) , calibrated it, and it works in P3D V4. However, I have a constant counterclockwise movement on the yaw and pitch axis. After an hour of fiddling, rolling my head and craning my neck around I'm ready to puke on my keyboard.

I also found it somehow does not really work well with my edition of Chaseplane, the camera software, but that might be a result of the moving axis problem. Chaseplane tries to reset the camera if it moves beyond the settings assigned in the program.

Anyone here had a similar problem?

[Edit: Never mind, it was a calibration issue. ]
