Could it be true? - Aerosoft CRJ

After all these years, the CRJ forum at Aerosoft has produced an announcement of release as between 0700 and 0800 tomorrow ( 2nd August, 2017) GMT.

This is quite unexpected as there wasn't much indication it was getting so close. I have been following this thread for a while, as it makes for some interesting reading within the (currently) 8760 posts.

I actually won the CRJ at last years Flight Angels online event. I hope they remember . The prize was for the Airbus, or if you were willing to wait a while, the CRJ. As I had very recently bought the Airbus package, I chose the CRJ.

    I am a bit skeptical.

    Waiting for reviews.

I'm slightly skeptical too having heard they were close to release a couple of years ago. I fully understand all the bumps in the road during it's development and the decisions to delay it to bring some dated items in the model more to current standards. Hopefully this will be it.

Got it installed, and took it for a quick run around the patch. Very nice indeed! Smooth FPS performance (on my 2013 Dell i7-3770 3.4ghz), excellent visuals, great sound, handles very nicely!

I have it downloaded, and will install tomorrow after work. really looking forward to it.

Amazingly I stumbled across a Flightsim.com post from Hans @ Digital Aviation (The sole remaining developer for the current CRJ) which mentions the CRJ project. The date of the post: 11-10-2003!!!

I think Hans mus be commended for sticking to (and more likely returning to) this project for so many years through some obviously difficult circumstances. I think this aircraft will have a lot of fans.

    reasons to buy the CRJ

I have resisted purchasing ANY aircraft over the past few months. The reason - unsure of which version to invest heavily in without the concerning cost of simulator dependency.. (A2A, PMDG, Etc.,), The fact you have to pay for separate simulator versions driving up the cost if you want to fly it now and later on a different version (P3Dv4 for example)

But here we go, Aerosoft has made it easy for us.

When you buy this product, you get FSX, FSX-SE, P3D v3 and P3D v4 install options.. You also get RAAS.
I pushed the buy button as this is a win win situation as I see it.
I don't regret the buy one bit.
A real joy to fly this .. back into my FSX Acceleration with DX10 Fixer - planning 2 hour flights around the country and just absolutely loving it.!!

I too have been enjoying the CRJ. It's packed with features that will satisfy users of any level of experience. IMO, it's very intuitive to operate overall and a Pilot's airplane to fly in terms of handling (very predictable and stable). My FPS performance has been super smooth overall and so far I have not had any OOM/VAS CTD's. I have read some negative comments on social media bashing the VC texture quality and gripes that the sounds are poor and the price being too high for what it is but I chalk that up to stereotypical gripes and opinions which IMO don't detract from the overall high quality of this addon. I am certain that over time AS will do upgrades to make minor to moderate improvements to the model and certainly aftermarket textures for the VC will help enhance some items that some may be unhappy with. Again, if you look hard enough, you'll fine an imperfection on one more or another but the CRJ is nowhere seriously flawed as some detractors would suggest.

I just noticed tonight (this morning) that Aerosoft have already released two updates for the CRJ. It is now up to V1.04.

I think they do this to frustrate and thwart the pirates. Given the long gestation period of this a/c it is a bit frustrating for the rest of us too.
    Intel i5-10600K 4.10 GHz 12 Core CPU
Asus ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming LGA1200 Z590-E Motherboard
    Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Water Cooler - CORSAIR iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT
    Corsair 850W PSU
    MSI RX580 Radeon Armor 8Gb
    Windows 10 Home Premium 64
    3 x 21" Acer LED screens

its mainly due to the problems with the autopilot and the lack of functionality with many users

it doesnt upset the pirates as its normally posted 24hrs later

Correction. The CRJ update is Version 1.0.0.4.

It is pretty funny, that after so many years of development and testing, they say OOPs, here are a few things we missed. Beta testers not doing their jobs properly .

Seriously though, I would prefer that they release the fixes rather than the alternative.

I have not had any major issues with the A/P holding the FP but, I have noticed little anomalies and times where one or more of the A/P's functions will get tripped off. I've experienced this type of buggy behavior on a number of models. Hopefully they will get it sorted soon.
