Angelsey was thought to be a possibility for a German invasion?

Angelsey was on the Luftwaffe's flight path to the Merseyside docks in Liverpool.

"Ireland was neutral, so it had all its lights on," said Adrian Hughes, curator of the Home Front Experience in Llandudno. "Britain was dark, but all they (Luftwaffe) did was turn right at Dublin and follow the north Wales coast to Liverpool." Any bombs left over would be dropped on north Wales during the flight home to Germany.

So Angelsey and Liverpool shared a unique "bond" during the blitz. It made sense to keep vigilant patrols above Angelsey given that the enemy bombers had to pass through that airspace in their effort to destroy the vital Liverpool docks.

"If you're in a fair fight, you didn't plan it right"

It's a simpler explanation - Anglesey is in the Western Hemisphere, & has coastlines, courtesy of Sander d Coq's Eurw scenery.

I've been running the bgls through Rhumbaflappy's VTP1 fixer, to eliminate those artifacts that you see in map view sometimes. My puzzle is that no matter what I do, I can't see any coastlines down near the Spanish border (cell 947160)...

Does anyone know what the tricks is? I can hex edit the bgl header to use FS2K4 references & the coastlines will show, but the adjacent cell (heading west into Spain) ends up with blocks instead of coastlines, so that's not the complete answer.

And yes Dirtman, no aircraft or pilots were harmed during this process ...

Thank you Uncle Tgt ... I can rest easy now.

I've also retracted the complaint I made to the SPCFS (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Flight Simmers)
