Gotha Go 242 and 244 released by baldy

I get a bit OCD every now and again - this time it's on gliders - so my latest effort, which I have just passed to the paintshop and crewchief that is UncleTgt is the Gotha Go 242 - as well as moving parts it has jettisonable wheels and has rato gear

a couple of pics as a teaser until she comes off the ramp

    Gotha Go 242

    Hallo,
would this fine bird be avaible or flyable in FS2004?
I have downloaded different versions of the DFS 230,
but sadly no one is correct in my FSGW3 version.
it is impossible to land it correctly with out the trolly gear.
I hope the Gotha will be fine for FS9
    yours

    Go 242

    Hi Papi

Never got as far as FS9 - all my stuff is CFS2 - however if the Gotha shows up in FS9 ( or someone converts it to FS9 ) then the jettisonable wheels and the rocket pods wont show up because they are functions of the dp file which FS9 doesn't have. All would not be completely lost because the glider has invisible wheels for take off - these are raised in the normal way so that the a/c can land on the skids. This would also apply to my DFS230 if converted to FS9. The pilots in the Go 242 are also in the dp file so they wont show in FS9

    Hope all this makes sense

Any interest in making a Gotha 244? It's based on the Gotha 242.

Maybe I could rebuild it in gMax. The jettisonable wheels and the rocket pods could be made to "jettison" by spoiler door or landing gear animation. Pilots can be added as I have the CFS2 pilots in gMax fourm that should plug right in.

    Gotha Go 242B-1.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - German

Description: This glider was a development of the original Go 242. The major difference being that instead of jettisonable undercarriage for take-off and skids for landing it was equipped with a fixed tricycle undercarriage for normal take-off/landing. This was probably because gliders were more often used for transport duties than for assault landings, except in Yugoslavia and Southern France against partisans.

Have just uploaded the Go 244 transport a/c - thus completing the progression from glider to powered aircraft

    Hope you like it, Boeingetc,

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - German

Description: German twin engined transport a/c created by marrying two Gnome-Rhone engines (large numbers of which the Germans had captured with the fall of France) to the airframe of the Go 242 glider. Served in MTO, North Africa and Eastern Front.
