JOINFS is Now Pay To Play

Sad news, Looks like the joinfs developer will be charging a monthly subscription to get his update from now on.... sorry, not going to ask our membership to fork out what they what

Three great things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm and a good bowel movement. The night carrier landing is one of the few opportunities in life where you get to experience all three at the same time

Sim-outhouse had just connected with JoinfS as an alternative to the current MP server that has been around for some time now. I guess I can't fault the guy for wanting to reap some reward off of the work he's put into it, but I for one won't pay to use it. If the current version remains viable I'll stick with that, but if forced to move to the pay to play version, I won't be joining. I still have a bad taste in my mouth over the FSTramp debacle so this really doesn't sit well.

Yep. Won't be paying to play either. Appreciate the work he has done, but don't do mp enough to rationalize paying to us the program. NC

    Jumping the gun a bit???

I think you might be jumping the gun on this a little bit.
The developer stated that he is CONSIDERING pricing and has yet to decide on the model.
In fact, he is asking for input about it ....so if people want to weigh in, now is the time to do so.

He may consider adjusting the pricing, but I doubt he will reverse the pricing decision completely. He intends the program to be pay to play starting with the next version. . .his only consideration will be "how much".

Hopefully this erroneous thread title can be changed.....

Hopefully this erroneous thread title can be changed.....maybe to something accurate, like "JoinFS to remain Donationware".

I guess maybe the Admins could do that but I don't see any real necessity for that. It was going to be pay to play, now it's not....no discussion necessary. Pete has his own Forum dedicated to JoinFS http://pmem.uk/joinfs/forum/

Maybe if a few more users donated, even a small amount, the situation wouldn't arise. The small group that I fly with use 3 different Sims, and we couldn't do that before JoinFS came along. So we all donated gladly.

Talking of donations, and chancing that I will be shot down, blues outnumber reds by more that two to one on SOH.
