The Best of the Best, the Creme' de la creme'

I burnt out of FS pretty hard about 3 years ago, now... a little before graduating college. At the time, I was using FS9 and getting good mileage out of it. I had thousands of dollars of purchases, too, so I was getting a good experience.

Now, I'm looking to update and get into FS again - particularly into FSX, in whatever flavor is the most popular these days. I'd like to get started again, and I'd like the best possible experience again.
    So what is the best?

For scenery, I'll be following the ORBX route, but that's only good so far. What's good elsewhere in the world? What's the best for European cities and countryside? And freeware, oh my goodness, freeware. There are so many little niche sites and odd nooks and crannies that just hitting up fs.com and avsim are not going to be remotely effective in digging up what there is...
For planes, I'll be getting the A2A planes in time, 'cause that's obvious, and possibly even the PMDG stuff if I can get over my aversion to tubes. And Aeroplane Heaven, GAS, and so forth, for sure. But what hidden gems am I in danger of missing? Where should I look to get the ones that are hiding?

Please help. I know that the reflex response is "search the libraries," but I've been out of the loop for a while and there always have been, perhaps even more so now, gems hidden in odd places, not included in the main libraries and amazing payware hidden away from the main shops...

P3D ! And actually with The European landclass, Global textures, and Vector, OrbX is good for the entire world. OrbX northern Germany, and Norway are great. England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales are wonderful. Look at OrbX closer! And this is a must have - http://marcoh.gratisim.fr/paris_en.html

For aircraft, I'm always into fighters..so a little prejudice...

    Warbirdsim
is a must if you like the Mustang. "Mustang Tales" if you can only get one. But any of their packages would be highly recommended.

    Flight Replicas
would be next for me. The P-40 is good. Not perfect, but certainly very good. Worth the full package.

LionHeart has done some really fun stuff for the basic / entry level GA or experimental type.

Next would be anything by RealAir. But unfortunately they aren't sold anymore. BUMMER! Their Lancair Legacy is top 5 for sure. Maybe hard-copies via ebay?

Have fun! Lots of freeware gems...

the freeware C-47 by Manfred Jahn and the team here on the outhouse!
There's also a very nice freeware Mirage IIIC (and B) by Restauravia.
Paul Domingue's Grumman Duck if you like the weird and wonderful, or the Grumman Goose over at OZx.

    payware: anything by A2A, really
I also love my P-38, F-86 and F-100 from Milviz.
Finally, I will admit to a strong weakness for the Catalina from Aerosoft.
You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.

    Hi Penz

Do you know this Danish landclass : http://www.jkelloggs.dk/image/tid/35

Download the "Denmark map X". This is a fantastic landclass of Denmark. Plus a lot more.

And then there is this great Danish scenery : https://flyawaysimulation.com/downlo...enery-part-12/

Accu-Feel from A2A is a must for me. Very immersive tailoring for each aircraft you have installed.

Question, do you know if these sceneries can co-exist alongside ORBX North Germany? Thanks in advance.
