Thread: MV22B Rel1.0 released

  1. #276
    Hi,

I just completed an addon gauge for Rel1 (intended for FSX-Accell, but may work on P3D); currently under test.

    What it does:
    - Alllows you to select any flying AI aircraft within a 50 mile radius.
    - You can auto-fly-to (or manually, using an included flightdirector) the selected AI and "lock-on" for inflight refuelling or formation flight.
    - Includes a fuel dump/reload feature with settable rate; auto-refuel when locked on to an AI tanker, if the MV22 fuel probe is extented.
    - Includes a camera view from the tip of the fuel probe; camera can be switched on or off.

Great job on the gauge Rob,

Have you made it available yet?

Awesome Rob,I can't wait to try it out.

  5. #280
User Postbaer61 is currently testing it, maybe he will comment here too.
I also sent the package to Maryadi to evaluate.
So not yet available, but soon ... (I will upload here )

Note though (again) that this addon probably only works on FSX Accell..

it work good in P3D v3.3, frame rates bit drop to 0.5-1 fps. traffic tracker was awesome gauge as usual, no doubt.

    Air Refueling Gauge I

I was able to test Rob's air refueling gauge
and want to explain how it works.

I hope I can do it with my poor english.
But there are also pictures attached, which show it.

First of all, I have installed the KC130 AI plane
    with the attached flight plan,
    which will soon available here.

At 09.08 local time a.m with 25% fuel on bord, I set the Osprey
    to the KNPA AFB .
After a short check, I followed the KC130 to the
runway and extended the fuel probe
and loaded the Refueling Tool with shift 3.

After take off,you have to scroll with the "next" button
to the KC130 AI or to your tanker plane.
If you have set the rotors to full forward
and have extended the fuel probe
you be able to switch the lock button.
The RF Tool will now lead you to the selected
plane, if you set the airspeed higher than
    the plane you follow.

    Air Refueling Gauge II

When you come nearer as DME 2000 to the tanker
plane, you will hear an acoustic pointer.
The RF Tool will bring you now closer to the fuel basket.
There are three buttons with which you can navigate
exatly to the middle of the fuel basket.
When you close enough, the RF Tool will start to
    fill your tanks automatically.
The osprey will follow now the tanker plane
    at a constant distance.
After refueling, you could switch the lock button again
and can follow now your own direction. That's it was.

I'm sure you will be thrilled like i do.

Rob has made an unbelievable job with his tools
and Maryadi has build an gem of an plane.

Thanks a lot for that !

That is an amazing gauge. and some wonderful pictures.
Thanks for the post and explanation, Bluebear! You did great work, and the explanation was very easy to understand.

Any ideas when this will be made public? It will make a fantastic addition to a lot of planes

Great explanation, Postbaer61 .. You should become my gostwriter ...LoL

I will upload this addon tomorrow ....

Just one addtion: as Postbaer61 explained, you can change the "lock point" (== the lon, lat and vertical offset) realtime in the gauge. The one included in the current version of the gauge is for the freeware KC130 (an old FS9 model, converted to FSX by Postbaer61), but I can easily add any other aircraft when someone sends me the appropriate offsets later.

I use the ATC_MODEL id from the aircraft.cfg, for identification of a specific aircraft (i.e to select the correct set of offsets as programmed in the gauge)

Nah Rob,with my excellent google english, you wouldn't be happy.
Thanks a lot for this wonderful tool.

I've just uploaded the KC130 AI pack.

can using any traffic available. using very slow aircraft . even it quite hard to maintain airspeed when approaching for air refueling using small aircraft. it 110kts. the trick are using manual flap to get lower airspeed in airplane mode. once it attached to the "boom" your work in done.

traffic tracker are very good gauge. it make live is more easier. ( honestly, I like do manually).

    Addon uploaded

    Hi,

I just uploaded the addon to the FSX-Other section of the SOH library; file rcb_MV22B1_Addon3.zip

@Postbear61: I suggest to use this (complete) version now.
Difference with the files you have:
    - New version of the VSTOL gauge (solves a potential "eventflooding" problem)
    - In the refuel camera window (ball.xml): when the Camera is On, AND time-of-day is "day", you can toggle between RED and BLACK for data colors by clicking the red center dot in the view.
One of your pictures above, shows why (in daytime) sometimes Red has a better visibility then Black

Thanks Rob,and Bluebear for making this aircraft more awesome than it already is.

Just a little snag that crept in:

In the release version of the KC130, the ATC-MODEL in the aircraft.cfg of the KC130 is different to what I was using for test, meaning that my gauge doesn't recognise the KC130.
And therefore the fuelprobe and KC130 fuelhose basket don't auto-align properly (you can do manually by changing the offsets realtime)

For the time being, you can correct this by changing in the aircraft.cfg of the KC130:

    //atc_model=KC130 tanker (Original)
    to
    atc_model=C130

I will add both model strings in a new version of my gauge.

I will make an update of the package anyway, since in high crosswind conditions during a LOCKED situation, both aircraft don't align properly (just discovered that myself). So avoid that for now, please.
Have to figure a way to solve that ....

Hey Rob, nice to hear from you again!

I tried looking for rcb_MV22B1_Addon3.zip in the search bar, but all that came up was this thread, you mind providing a link?

EDIT: Ehhh nvm I found it in the OTHER section like your post said, thanks!

    Update

    Hi,

For those of you using my addon (file rcb_MV22B1_Addon3.zip) for the MV22B:
Attached to this post, an update ....

    - Added ATC-MODEL "KC130 tanker" to comply with release version of file AI_KC130.zip by Bluebear.
    - Tracking/Locking now also works properly in heavy crosswind conditions.
    - The Locking checks now only done once (at 2000 ft distance)
    - If you are tracking/locking/locked-to an AI aircraft, you cannot select another AI aircraft (unlock first).

    Enjoy,

    Rob

looks stunning and very authentic, Bill
    I look forward to it.

I will upload today a new version of the AI KC130 tanker.
Version 2 has land and taxi lights and an automatic
Fuel boom, which becomes visible above 1500 ft over ground.

    Cheers

I have new gauge that will replace VTOL gauge dependent to FSUIPC. hope this gauge solve issue with tacpack (running). still on alpha and Rob testing it.
