In converting the aircraft xdp. file my question concerns the "Long name".

My I trying to add ai model of an aircraft.

In my aircraft xdp there is no "Long name" in the original xdp.

Am I allowed to add the "aircraft name" in the new xdp_ai

The aircraft is the "fw_p1."

I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toe's in adding an"ai" model?

I did not add the "Long Name" in the xdp and converted the files as written.

I then loaded in my aircraft file in my ETO and renamed the aircraft in the Missions (Historical).

I then set the ETO Theatre to ERA 4 and opened each Mission but they didnot load because of the following: Didnot recognize the aircraft.

The aircraft I used was "fw_p1_ai" but it is in my Aircraft folder.

What step did I miss and in the ETO aircraft file I noticed any "ai" aircraft is named "ai_Hurricane."

Now that has me puzzled?

Did you check on the detailed "how to" for making ai aircraft in the P k thread? I think also more somewhere in the Library?
Anyway your long name can be the same. Make sure ALL the appropriate files are renamed to the ai name.

I reviewed my files and made one adjustment. In the cfg. file I changed the [fltsim.0] back from "1" as prevously required.

This was the only change but the Missions loaded.
