flight replica Me-109s: the white panel

Hi guys,
I am still wading around all of the great skins for the Flight Replica Me-109 models. One point I have noticed is that some skins, of whatever version, display in the virtual cockpit, a white (ie un-painted) panel with pull-out switches on the right hand side of the cockpit internally.

Sometimes the replacement of the 'VC2' file in the skin, by the original file and not an add-on solves this. Sometimes not.

Any one else come across this bug and get a resolution.

Could you post a picture? I don't have this problem, or I haven't noticed it yet. But perhaps I'm just checking the wrong part.

The fact that sometimes "VC2" sometimes solves the problem and sometimes not could be caused by the fact that the VC of the different models is mapped differently.

Thanks for your reply. I had no issues with your G2 w/lifejacket skins. I downloaded a lot of skins sometime ago and only now am I checking and flying them in detail. Steveb also did a large qty of skins for the G6 and upward versions and it is in these that I find the 'white switchboard' bug.

So apologies and I am now addressing steveb:

Firstly Steve, many, many thanks for your great skins for Flight Replicas great 109 versions. The problem is the right-hand switchboard panel in the virtual cockpit. The G6 Tall Tail version is a good example to look at first. When inside the virtual cockpit the switchboard looks fine and is coloured. However, viewing the a/c from an external view this panel shows white. Thought that the prob might be with the cockpit canopy glass but this does not effect the issue. The switchboard is white either in direct external view with the canopy open or through the close canopy.

Have tried copying in the original vc2.bmp texture from the original download into these skins but no joy. Grateful for any ideas on how I am screwing up.

It maybe that an update to the original dwnld package had occurred and I have missed it . I checked Flight Replica/Sky Unlimiteds' site and could not see
one.

No big deal but I do like your work and wonder where I went wrong. Have tested a number of differing models without success.

I found it. there is a difference on the fuselage 3 textures. I will fix and upload fix's over the next day or so. A link will be posted here once done.

Thanks for the reply. The 'white panel' bug is spread amongst almost all of the G-6 types, but to give you a flavour, I will just detail the G-6 Tall Tail version.

Texture files concerned are:

'texture.croat'

'texture.jg11b3'

'texture.jg27b32'

'texture.poa'

I believe that the bug is with the vc_2.bmp. The confusing thing is, that inside the vc all looks in order. But when you view the a/c from outside, looking into the cockpit the offending right-hand switchboard shows up white.

Tried swapping in the vc_2.bmp from the original Flight Replica skin, but no joy.

Best of luck, I have almost decided to live with it, but the excellence of your skins demands that I keep on trying.

Ok I have redone the fuselage 3 textures on all my G6 repaints, after all I missed the problem in the first place. I will be posting links too them available over the weekend.
I found the problem on over 30 repaints so that will teach me for painting so many .
I have just noticed that the G 10 and 14's have the same problem, luckily I have not painted so many so will get them fixed tonight.

I have found that it effects all the G6's, G10's, the G14 repaints I released, only 60 or 70 textures to fix in total. Nothing a couple of litres of cola can't cure
