Tweaking the Engine Response time

Hi im looking at tweaking the engine response time in an F86 and was woundering if anyone had any tips

Tweaking the response time.. as in more instantaneous reaction when you get behind the power curve and need to catch it before sinking into the trees?

Alas, jet engines don't respond like a piston engine and it takes a bit of time to "spool up" - which is why the need for stabilized approaches and maintaining sufficient power (typical is 75%) until the runway is assured. Speed is normally controlled by pitch, configuration and, in some, the variable use of speedbrakes.

.. or were you looking for a 'magic bullet' to help you beat that pesky MiG?

Aircraft.cfg: fuel_flow_gain

Higher number: Quicker response
Lower number: Slower respone
Too low: Engine will flame out

But it is always best, of course, to just accept that some engines are like they are.

The engine in that F-86 freeware is pretty well spot on if that is one you are talking about...

if it's the milviz F-86, I would recommend just learning how to fly the engine in this bird. It will give you way more satisfaction. However....If you're trying to "Simulate" an Avon powered Sabre....that's a cool idea!
