    CFS3 Config Utility

    Back in the day when computers didn't have enough resources to properly run CFS3, we all went into the config and rolled back as much LOD, Dual Pass Rendering etc. to get acceptable frame rates without stutter. Since loading everything up on my re-vamped rig, I have done none of this and get 60 FPS on average with sliders all the way up, thick clouds, a dozen AC, Flak. Should I still be turning off certain aspects in the config utility. Upsides/downsides?

    Use this one, it's one of major Magee's. Just don't cut and past the first 10 lines. from textures limits onwards is what you want don't use the config utility or else it will mess things up!

    Yes, configoverrides.xml in your app data pathway. When you are happy with it, make the file "Read only" because the dual pass render has a habit of switching itself on, which looks terrible with Ankor's shaders....

    Not AFAIK at this stage, however the improvement to the terrain textures etc is just stunning and well worth it. Unfortunately the thread on the subject has become very long so just try the very latest version (21-21-16 IIRC?), perhaps with Majormagee's seawater.fx file too for ETO.

    Taking baby steps here, I don't want to try making changes that are going to send me back to the drawing board. Where are these Shaders in the Library, under what heading? Are they compatible with all add-ons?
