A very sad time for the whole community. Prayers for him, and his family. He has done a great service for many years to the FS community, and his dedication will forever be remembered.

I saw Tom Clayton's post on FB yesterday and was stunned to hear the news. Realistically, given his many health problems, it isn't surprising, but it's still a shock to the system after having him in the background every day. Always on top of any hacks that hit the site or when the Server required his attention. He has done a great job of keeping SOH high and dry and humming along. He will definitely be missed but always remembered. RIP Ickie!!

    High Flight

    John Gillespie Magee, Jr

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, --and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of --Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew --
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

    God Bless you Ickie!

Sad news indeed. My condolences go out to all Ickie's friends and family. We must honor his legacy by supporting SOH and making sure it thrives well into the future. So many simmers depend on SOH for so many different reasons it falls upon each and every one of us to make sure we do all we can to insure it's continued success. Rest easy Ickie. We won't forget you.

Sad news indeed. He was always so open with the issues he was dealing with, and (almost) always overcame them in the end. He was inspirational to me, and I'm grateful for having known him on the forums. God bless!

Very sad news indeed! I was following his Newshawks thread where he patiently described the rigors of his illness. That did not stop him from squashing that annoying adware that had infected SOH in IOS machines. I can also remember the long hours he put in keeping this site in good working order.

    RIP Ickie.
