Awful news-- and on Ickie's birthday to boot.

Ron-- thank you for all you have done to make SOH the great place it is. Saw this quote recently, and it seemed appropriate:

"Success flourishes only in perseverance -ceaseless, restless perseverance."
    • Baron Monfred von Richthofen
      80 Victories, WWI

Ron's perseverance was laser focused...and that focus is in large part what has made SOH what it is today.

    Salute, my friend!

Ron will be missed in a relatively small but very tight community, that he built. He will be missed.

Let's get the Contribution Goal for 2017 met sooner than later as a tribute to what "Icky" built and all of us continue to enjoy. With our financial contributions and continued support for the S.O.H. Community, his memory and passion will live on and on...

I never really had much contact with Ron, but when I think of the Sim-Outhouse, I think of him. This place has his heart and soul built into it. RIP Ron. You will be greatly missed.

    Hey All,

Very sad... The message on the 22nd of Dec was kinda ominous...

    RIP Ickie

Kind of a double blow - I lost a friend at work on Thanksgiving to colon cancer as well...

As Ron Larsen and a fellow guitarist I at some point downloaded a couple dozen songs he did and was listening to some of them... Really good stuff Ron... At least I have these to remember you by...

    R.I.P. Ickie.

While I had very little contact with Ickie, I enjoyed reading his posts and seeing his beer guz'ling squirrel everyday and took comfort knowing that he was always here working to keep this place running smoothlly.

My sincerest sympathy to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.

Honestly, I'm relatively new here but I'd like to extended a prayer to Ickie. He obviously was an important person for this community. God rest his soul.
