    Not a Stearman - the N3N

Started thinking about the Navy N3N that Maam sim had handed off last year to another modeler for completion.
Thought I would post a question here in the forum to see if there were any updates or news.

This is my buddy's Stearman (I know the thread is about the N3N, but I just had to post these!).

His name is Lantz, and is a retired PRCS (Senior Chief Parachute Rigger). We worked together at Saufley Field, Pensacola, back in the early 90s as Advancement Exam Writers. Lantz lives at Roy E. Ray Airport (airpark), near Bayou La Batre, AL. NC

Rows of "not-Stearmans", parked at NAS Minneapolis (modern-day KMSP) in 1941 (from the Minnesota State Archives). Same place George Bush Sr. earned his Naval Aviator wings in the Minnesota winter of 42/43, but he did it in Stearmans.

Yes, sorry i had to give up on that little yellow peril, heywoood. Batteries completely depleted. But that was then, this is now...

It is indeed true that a gentleman has asked for the source files for him and his comrades to finish up the N3N. Both Bill and me gave our consent but i have not heard from the guy ever since. And that's already more than a year ago, maybe even two...

So i am as much in doubt of what's going to happen with the N3N as you are, atleast atm.

If everything fails i can always give it another shot myself. Feel much better now..

I know all about the low battery Jan, trust me...been there - bought the faded t-shirt

..and I feel much better knowing that you might just on the slightest little chance, be thinking or mulling the possibility of revisiting the project...
