Computer back up and running. FsX vs FsX-SE ?

My computer has been down awhile. The gentleman that worked on it placed all my files and FSX into a backup folder on my second HD which originally just contained FSX.
    My questions...
Reinstall FsX Gold, or switch to FsX-SE ?
Will having FsX in a backup folder cause issues with a new install ?

So ready to start flying again...I see an AT-6 in my future

    Thanks

That's pretty much your choice. Having said that, SE seems to work a little better than FSX Box (the edition sold in a box n discs). It's FSX Gold, basically, but cheap to buy, Usually, somewhere between $5.00 and $7.99 USD, and has some fixes that FSX never had. It seems to work a little better, more reliable, fewer CTD's and OOM problems.

There have been no problems that I know of with having FSX and SE on the same PC, even on the same HD. Having the baxed edition sitting quietly, uninstalled, in a back-up folder means that to the computer, it's not even there. I have a "virgin" (just installed out of the box/downloaded, no add-ons or any mods of any kind) copy of both FS9 and FSX stashed in zip files in back-up folders, no problems at all.

    Does that answer your questions?
