RanchoJEN Mirage III E & BE upgrade project

    Dear fellows,

I have been away for quite a long time, and I didn't have much time for FS, however I resumed working slowly on this Mirage project I started about 6 months ago.
Using the model from J.E Narcizo and doing some mod's on MDLMAT I have come to this WIP status, planning for a few liveries of Armée de l'air for both single seater IIIE and dual seaters IIIBE. Some foreign liveries may come later
I started to adapt Isra's excellent AIR file to simulate a good IIIE & BE handling, as well as a full VC set up using genuie Mirage III gauges from Gmax Acc (Mirage IIIV)

A few pics better than a long story

I'll keep you posted when progressing

I hope there are still mirage fan flying on fs9, I am mainly doing this package because FSX users have already the brilliant restauravia's III B & C mirage available.

    Very nice!!

I'm glad to see that you have some time to do some painting again!

This reminds me - weren't you working on some Ouragan paints a while back? If they were released I must have missed them...

Still working on it, but they suffered too from my lack of time. As the mirages, the ouragan pack is on the top of my list.

Yes, there are still Mirage fans out here in South Africa. Our Air Force flew the F1CZ, F1AZ, IIIEZ, IIICZ, IIIR2Z, IIIBZ, IIIDZ, IIID2Z, & the Cheetah (a modified III with canards) C, D, & E,

All are gone now, except in our Air Force Museum. All we have are Grippons & Hawks!

So I'll consider painting a IIIEZ and IIIDZ. As far as I know there was no bare metal IIIE nor IIID in SAAF service, all of them being painted with the Dassault camo scheme with 2 tone colors.

Here are these 2 I'm considering

    After quite a long time,

I finally uploaded a beta kit for both the Mirage IIIE and IIIBE, available at fs2004 Military skins - Cold War repertory at SOH Library.

    I hope you'll enjoy it !

l'iguane, thanks for your re-work of this great and classic French aircraft that has sold world-wide. The re-paints do it full justice and will ensure it fills the airspace within my monitor.

Thanks again for your efforts and - more importantly - your time!

Your work is amazing. I am becoming a big fan of the Mirage. Looking forward to more.

Has anybody done a kfir c10 ( I think that's the right version, the cones the Columbians currently fly) It reminds of the South African version

Thank you sir ! I'm glad seeing I converted you to Mirage mania

No one ever did a C10 with the proper long nose for fs9. I recall one was made for fs2002 by da silva's brothers (or a long nose cheetah, wich looks close enough) but it didn't have a VC neither a refined 3D model. If someone was willing to modify and refresh it with a VC and some animation, I'd be glad to help with painting !

    Cheers
