    More ickie News

3 days ago I seen my VA Dr, went in for labs 7 am and it took all day with the DR and xrays and more lab work.
Last night my Dr called me.
I have a mass in my left chest the xrays shown , and now have to go in for a CT scan, it isn't looking good.

What made my Dr look was the fact I lost 20 lbs in 2 months, They checked my weight when I broke my back 2 months and again 2 days ago and I am eating good too.
I have hacking and light pain in left chest for awhile and told my DR months ago and it too has gotten bad.

boy when things go bad it really hits hard. (@ the moment I need a pick me up.)

I go in for an MRI sunday morning on my neck. It has been hurting since I broke my back and have had an injury from the Army in 1972 to my neck, I walked off a clif in the middle of the night and I was on POINT, lol

now where did I put that bullet for my .45

I'd like to add my best wishes, too. Living and working close to the VA hospital in ATL keeps me concerned for all our vets...

I first noticed this 1 year ago and told my DR then, and in Feb I told my heart5 DR and my main Dr again in July, now something is being done.

here is what I have learned today

The five-year survival rate for lung cancer is 55 percent for cases detected when the disease is still localized (within the lungs). However, only 16 percent of lung cancer cases are diagnosed at an early stage. For distant tumors (spread to other organs) the five-year survival rate is only 4 percent.

Just remember the saying that I live with Ron, 'Cancer is a word, not a sentence'.
I still have a check twice a year and my PSA remains low, the latest and greatest PET Scan showed no hot spots.
Get into the treatment cycle and stay positive, you can live around it, you can probably find yourself in remission.
Hope for the best, plan for the worst.
From what you have posted you still haven't been given a definitive diagnosis.
    Hang in there mate.

That's indeed bad news Ron. You're in my thoughts and I hope for the best.

Very sorry to hear of this, but this is not the time to give up. Try to keep your spirits up, try to keep a sense of humor, these are important and will help you. Cancer is serious, but treatments today are far more effective than they were just a few years ago. So do not panic, but keep calm and carry on.

    Ron,

I don't know if this helps, but Kelticheart, a valued CFS2 contributor and beloved friend, was diagnosed with two cancerous brain tumors in June, and just checked in with me this morning, and I posted his response to SOH.

I will post both threads for you, and perhaps in reading them, you will draw strength, courage, and inspiration.
