Here is a pic of Dave Garwood's Beaufighter sitting pretty. Long way to go but it is a start....

    Hi Nachtpiloten,

not being a modeller, how much better would you say this model is, than the models already in ETO? Is it more refined/more triangles or whatever?

    greetings,
    D

Looks like a better model to me. :-)

    Newer model

The biggest difference will be the cockpit. Dave did a great job and I will tinker with as well. Exterior Dave's model has much richer detail.

Yea that's a nice model all round, a lot more detail!

@ Hairyspin - thanks for the excellent illustration of the differences.

The beaufighter is my favourite British heavy fighter, nothing survives at the convergence point! I have had some very long and twisting episodes, white knuckles and a lot of sweat, trying to get at least some of my flight home on a few campaign missions after being bounced by 109s....

    Good news indeed!

A more detailed cockpit, a richer exterior and a new coat of paint is music to my ears.

Great! Nice one Ted. The original cfs3 pit isn't bad but I never liked flying t much. It just needed tweaking but the source model is long gone, I'll certainly fly it more once this beauty comes along.

Hey Ted... did you say IIF as in Merlin powered?
(sorry this business with new Beaus has me in a dizzy tizzy )

Don't forget we have sleeve valves which means no need to model push rods... (?)

Great looking aircraft! The Beau is definitely one of my favorites. It will be great to have a Mk I night fighter. Keep up the good work!

Looking nice Ted, but you bent the tail! Is and IIs had straight (no dihedral) stabilizers.
