    Fantastic!!!

Great work.... just one suggestion... (and I know you can do it) re: roundels.... on the white portion... rivets show through manificently..
but... and here is the rub... on the blue part they are not visible at all... this robs the "realistic" look... you need to select the blue area
in the rivets layer... and use "lighting" up those rivets on a superimposed layer... (easily done by copying that area in the rivets layer and putting it on another
layer above... make them show... and integrate it back into the rivets layer.. then it all looks uniform...
with liveries that do not have roundels... just use the rivet layer as it was... in the end... it all becomes one layer in the texture.. right?)

Again great work... oh.. another suggestion (the rivets themselves could stand to be cleaned up a bit... (their being a bit irregularly faded in outline, etc.
contrasts with the sharp cleanly crisp lines in the rest of the surfaces) after you clean a single rivet to be well defined
then the rows can be recreated like so many sausages...) Your overall finish really gives a realistic natural metal feel..

    Congratulations..
    G.

    Thanks Duckie, Ted, and gaucho!

Didn't focus to much on the decals, just put them there for affect. About the little wieners... LOL... just didn't get to squishing those just yet due to the distortion field only did a row of them last year.

Only did a few to see how much squishing was need to look round then moved on to other areas, will get back to those shortly.

Fun stuff learning "how" and learning how to use Photoshop with all those neat tools and such at the same time from a Paint.net user!!!

Now just got to get as half as good as Vauchez's work.

The times I have spent caressing the flanks of some sundry C-47's past.......have left the indelible impression that at least fifty percent of their weight be that of rivet fasteners.

Thank you for reinforcing...even...validating that impression to be real....

( Same goes for the B-17...too.)

    Ted-

She's beginning to blur the line.... there are billions of light points and shadow detail that together make up what our eyes see IRL... you must have breached the first billion mate- WOW!

Thanks for your perseverance- looking forward to the drool.

Thanks jankees, C, everyone! Amazing amount of tools and techniques in PS6 I haven't even thought about using now until I was shown by experts.

Toying with this one, always loved the Gulfhawk and it only comes in orange. Factory fresh version. Wip for now, but after I finish the DAk, will be back with this one. And it only comes in orange!

Needs better strips, but for now.

Just got an updated model from Manfred today to work with. Elevator trim tab linkage is now correct for one. Good stuff!

The right elevator trim linkage is now located on the bottom and removed from the top.

    Tail shot with decals...

For P3Dv3, Manfred has added dynamic reflections.. good stuff!

Of course FSX doesn't have that.

    FSX-SE update.

I use this add on for Photoshop 6 in my work. http://quixel.se/suite/

Can work directly on normal maps. Here I've added three different test shapes on top of a bump mapped texture of a F3F model.

In the box you can make changes of the shape on the fly... very handy.

One source I also use is the talent over at War Thunder forums.

Example: Very complicated pattern on a Japanese aircraft.
