Ted, when painting in non-alpha does it make it easier when adding panel lines and rivets? Mike

I find it easier to find errors which there is some that I didn't notice with alphas applied. Also depends how dark the metal is. As you can see in the wings a little darker makes the rivets pop. You can soften the rivets by lighten the color as seen in the fuselage. The wings will get a lighter color when finished to match the fuselage. Just experimenting at the moment. I must have changed stuff half a dozen times already.

Love using the curve tool, especially doing specs, and alphas.

    Spec with alpha only.

Photo series like this comes in handy when documenting a complete overhaul!

Interesting cargo doors of a C-47... camera ship! At least that's what it is listed, I suspect a different aircraft.

Working on the cargo doors and fixed the angle on half of the rivets on the bottom part of the tail.

There are several ways the doors are assembled.

It's good therapy... and Monty's C-47 is a very rare bird, wanted to do something special.

Got to spend some time on this today which is rare these days, but focused on the H-stab. Testing different materials on the canvas.

Thanks guys! Inspired by Vauchez artist work and one of my favorite Navy aircraft.

His work is absolutely fantastic starting with the rivets and panels!

Great work on the riveting TuFun! Im doing the same on my C-123 build. Very time consuming work.

That Hellcat..... just wow. Those kind of screenshots are what made me download that game. Very realistic

Yep, but it's well worth the effort! The DC3/C-47 has a ton of them, although what I'm doing is representative not actual. In other words real shows 5 rivets, I'm showing 4 rivets due to mapping restrictions.

I've not done the normals (only blank bumps) yet, what's done is just textures only.
