H.XVIIIB Amerika Bomber - New Jet bomber?

I know i´m arriving late, by would like to leave this challenge to CFS3 addons makers: The H.XVIIIB Amerika Bomber. I think it could be used many knowledge form the CFS3 available Hortens and it could be used in some "What if 1946 missions" targeting not the US but Britain. Some sort of "Second Blitz" as retaliation against Allied offensive. A good chance for the P 80 Shooting star to shot... something.

One good challenge deserves another: how about learning to build one yourself?

    The XVIIIB or XVIIIB-2?

well, if that model would be a target, means AI lowpoly aircraft, then it is doable in days, theorethicaly...

the Ho 18B seems was planned as four engined airplane, the engines was mounted itno the legs (landing gear), unretractable. no armament, just a bay for bomb. maybe a nuke bomb... it is a "paper" plane only, never flew...

Thank you it was kind of you. I´ll check it. Anyway my point was to make a suggestion to the community . For instance i found the Arado 234 thread an excellent idea.

    Cheers!

Hi there. It´s true is was designed having in mind a jet nuclear bomber and the ideia was later taken by the British to develop the 3 V Bombers ( The Valliant the Victor and The Vulcan ).
It should be powered by 4 Heinkel jet engines mounted in legs as you said. Never went beyond the blue print but neither others like the Ta 183 wich is available to both CFS3 and Il2.

It could be an interesting aircraft
    Grettings!

    hi lgoncalv,
I like the idea to make such luft46 giant as the mission target objective. there is also a few another luft46 airplanes in work, and this may be a nice escort objectives awell.

it wouldnt even need to model or share any cockpit, even not any moving parts, or a few only. we did such way the low poly B-17 for the CFS3 Me-163B (its a part of the package).

all what would be needed is to create the airplane decent shape / polycount and put some damage zones and effect emitters. and the proper flight model would be needed of course.

I personally I am busy right now with other projects, but I am always open for such kind of work, also still love low poly modeling.
    so, maybe one day...

Ive found some images, presenting the airplane, at WT thread, here:
    https://forum.warthunder.com/index.p...omment=4580261

shame it differs picture by picture. would need to find bit more sources maybe.

That would be good too. But would rather see this one in cfs 3 skies as we do have it in cfs 2 here at simouthouse.

    Hi Folks,
What you have linked are various what-ifs, but the Arado E555 and the Me264 Amerika Bomber are not what Ig is talking about. Both Ho XVIII's are pure flying wings by Horten, the A model with engines in the wing like a YB49, and the B model as Borek states fitted to fixed wheel spats under the wings.

In fact you could use a Northrop YB49 as a basis, there are a few for Fs9, hmmmm an idea maybe?

well, odin_br or gecko? nah, I am kidding, just exactly as lgoncalv says, we can train to stop the bomb attack at Britain coast.

btw, is some nuke bomb or similar devastator weapon available for CFS3? just needs to put something inside the Horten bay...

    Maye the SC 2500 ?
The "ficticional nuclear bomb" is only available with Firepower i guess.
