The US series MotoAmerica had 2 championships decided this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park in both 600 Supersport and Superbike classes. As a fan, one really wants a close championship season and closer racing like any other motorsports series. In the Superbike class, based on points, factory Yamaha rider #1 Cam Beaubier only needed to finish, even if his championship rival and teammate #4 Josh Hayes won race 2. Half way into the race, the unthinkable happens as #1's R1 engine went south, pretty rare for a factory team. #4 Hayes, who took the lead early, was unable to run the pace of the factory Suzuki squad, he settled for 3rd and only a few points from winning the championship!

Can't wait for the World Superbike summer break to be over, but my primary series MotoGP has been a great watch with plenty of drama on and off the track (not NASCAR level drama but still).
