    Marcel,

Great repaint...always liked the 1950's KLM livery. One question...where did you get the Amsterdam Terminal Scenery please?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
As in real-life it's situated at the Aviodrome Aviation museum at Lelystad Airport. I'm using Aerosoft Lelystad X scenery -> http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us...?showd,,D11164
    It's also in NL2000 version of Lelystad. -> http://www.nl-2000.com

So sadly no complete old 1950's Schiphol scenery i'm afraid.

    Regards,

    Marcel

    Douglas C-47 Aeromaya

Aeromaya was an airline of the years 60's and mid 70's with headquarters in Merida, Yucatan in Mexico, its fleet had a C-53 in its fleet, your registration was the XA-NIJ

I see older textures shining through, is that the alpha/spec file, or is it intentional?
You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to

The N65389 is on my repaint list, was already researching it. Still trying to figur out what is written on the bottom of the tail. Seems something like
    "US MAIL AIR EXPRESS"
    "XXXX<bla bla="">"

Will keep you posted in this topic.

Thanks for your kind assistance. I shall look forward to your work. Meanwhile I will ask San Juan airport experts if they know the answer to your question. Hope they have answer for me.

    MGR,

One San Juan airport expert said "It would be the "US Mail' "Air Express" and "AM-xxx" which is Air Mail Route with the Route Number for Caribair.".

The other San Juan airport expert said "The bottom line is probably the Air Mail Route number, 'AM XX' In Caribair's case I would assume that it was the Air Mail route between San Juan and St. Thomas/St. Croix, since those were the 'domestic' routes that they flew."

I am waiting for other San Juan airport experts to answer my question.

    Regards,

    Aharon

    MGR,

Here is the photo via link that gives you close up view of the tail

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/tlehma...972025/sizes/o

Also, some San Juan experts think that it seems the unreadable letters are AWGR or AMGR. One expert thinks it is US MAIL AIR EXPRESS AM52.

    Aharon

Thanks, did some searching, and now think it's AM-59. See site below:

When in doubt, ask Google. When Google fails, ask SOH

    MGR,

You are RIGHT it is AM-59.

According to foremost Puerto Rico airport expert, it reads "US MAIL AIR EXPRESS AM-59"/ AM-59 is the contract number for a specific Air Mail route, basically from Puerto Rico to the USVI. The aircraft in the photo is quite unique. During the conversion from C-47A-DL to DC-3-C, one of the C-47 doors was retained.. Purchased from the War Assets Administration in May of 1946, Serial Num. 19382, 42-100919, built in Oct 19 1942 and sold to Executive Transport Corp in Dallas, Tx. FOR $20,000.00. Sold to Caribair in July 17, 1946. Converted by Texas Engineering and Manufacturing Co., of Grand Prairie in July 17, 1946 to a 30 passenger DC-3-C. The second DC-3 to be delivered to Caribair, fleet number 201. With the loss of N1549V a C-47 cargo plane in a takeoff accident, N65389 was again converted to a C-47 at Air International, Miami, Fl. in 2-11-1964. I would assume this airframe was chosen because it still had the original C-47 door.

Here's a few pic with global environment map for reflections (P3Dv3) set to True and Reflection scale set to 0. Got some very good pics of the '48/49 of Monty's bird. Roundels and fin flash have changed and Royal Transport Crown are used during that period. Working on that one at the moment.
