Thank you to all you talented painters for sharing your work with us.
Looks good Peter!
Just out of curiosity, have you found any pictures of the Indian Mk.100 with the Marineflieger/RN high demarcation line? All the pictures I have seen shows Mk.100 repainted in the standard Indian center fuselage demarcation line with painted tailfin and white underside. I know drawings from decals sets show them in the German scheme, but I have never seen any real pics of it.

I guess we all have Warpaint No.29!

The warpaint series have a lot of interesting info (I have many of them myself), but my experience is that you always need a real picture of the scheme they have drawn to cross check the details. They have made some very strange mistakes from time to time of very obvious details.. Luckily most of the schemes they draw are also shown in bw pictures.

No JensOle, I have not seen any photos of the MK101 in the scheme and painted it in line with the Warpaint drawing. I am unconvinced of the accuracy - why would the Indian Navy retain the German scheme and just change the markings? BTW you did well to find a picture of a all-black Sea Hawk with the Tiger emblem on the nose. I could not find one which is why I never painted the Indian version of the all black scheme!
Cheers, Peter
Peter,
There is a series of take off pics from Vikrant with the Black painted Sea Hawks with the tiger. The pics I have found of the Mk.100 also shows the Tiger on the standard indian demarcation line scheme. For the Black S-Hs I think they were delivered looking that way from the UK as delivery flight pictures show them in black (No tiger at this time, probably painted on when they were taken into service by the 300 INAS). Either the former RN scheme (I thought only the FRADU birds were black?) or painted that way by Hawker or another contractor for the deal of second hand S-Hs to India. Of interest is also that the Black birds I have seen has the "Indian navy" text in a different font than the rest. It looks like the second hand machines from both the RN and Germany never received the big number codes on the forward fuselage.
I'm painting IN235 as it looks today at an technical university in India, it was a gift from the IN and as far as I can understand so has it never been repainted after it left active service. Pictures shows it in the standard demarcation line scheme with white underside and the tiger. It does have slightly modified font number for the 2 and 3 in the serial as compared to the original British font type.

This is the Sea Hawk of J.C. de Wolff, a pilot who died after his ejector-seat pressed him against the canopy at the moment he was catapulted of the Hr. Ms. Karel Doorman on 30th September 1959.

I was only three years old, but I remember my mother was very sad hearing this news. Huub, have I got the numbering right?
I have a replication of the KD as far as the majestic class model allows if any of you are interest.

I am, the dutch sea Hawks were the most colorful, would be nice to have a proper home for them.

I thought so :-)
Here you go; Hr.Ms. Karel Doorman in her 1958 look with Sea Hawks. It is not possible to make the exact correct angle on the landing deck due to the reason that KD had a higher angle on the deck than the rest of the majestic-class ships. If I make the correct angle you will fly into the mirror landing system. But the deck has been painted as close as I get it inside these restrictions. The Island was also different with a Dutch radar system and higher antennas. During the 60's with Trackers the deck markings were slightly modified, but that was after the Sea Hawk period as far as I know.
Enjoy!
RN escort if you have the Victorious 1958 installed:
unit.1=Daring, 005, -1000
unit.2=Diana, -500, -100
unit.3=Defender, 900, 7000
