I say it with a heavy heart, as I would looking forward to this release, but this plane is a bit of a mess. Problems I have found:

Well, if you're just using the North American mesh (which BTW is only Canada and Greenland until my high-res USA mesh is complete), then you won't need any patches. It would not say you need the Asia...

Because there are some coarser, but error-corrected data out there, fixing the artifacts like those in the Himalayas become a lot easier if we let the coarser data guide us on correcting the finer...
So am I! I've been only doing this for less than a year. You can see my inexperience in some of the FreeMeshX areas with artifacts that slipped through our review.
Noise is simply some high frequency artificial spatial data. Take this 90-m SRTM source:
