Just to clarify, are people having issues upgrading from 8 to 8.1 or from 7 to 8.1?
When I upgraded 7 to 8 I had to reinstall all my applications, but upgrading my Surface from 8 to 8.1 did not...
I'm hoping this is a sign that they're working their way through Europe next. They ploughed through the US pretty quickly and the v2.0 stuff is pretty good.
France, Italy and Germany would be...
I like the idea of getting this, but I know that it would be another expensive add-on gathering dust in my virtual hanger.
I've yet to fully master the 737NGX, PMDG 747 or FSLabs Concorde, so...
I probably won't get Washington as I have ORBX to cover that area, but the new hen MegasceneryEarth stuff is really good so I'd suggest giving it a try. I have GA, NY and NJ and they get a lot of...
Excellent pictures, the 50's and 60's were a great time for aircraft design, lots of budget and less tech so it didn't take 20years to come up with a new aircraft!
Nope, run FSX on Windows 8 fine here. Can't recall having any installation issues either except with Ultimate Traffic 2.
Only issue I have at the moment is that the REX weather engine doesn't...
Sorry to jump on this thread, but has anyone used Traffic 360 with Windows 8? My Ultimate Traffic 2 doesn't like W8 and the skies are getting a bit quiet!
I run 2560x1600 and it's fine, make sure you are running the hd textures for any add ins you have though.
Does anyone know if they plan to release London as an upgrade? The version in the default package is horrible and their rendition of the Olympic park is incredibly basic. I had to keep looking to...
Probably just parts. Even in the cities it is unlikely that they will do what Aerosoft did with London X and have a photo scenery base for the whole city of London.
I'm actually looking forward...
I recently upgraded to Windows 8, mainly because I get it free with my MSDN subscription and wanted to see what the fuss was. FSX works fine and TrackIR now has updated drivers that work with it. ...
I'll definitely give this a shot and it does look good, but I've got used to flying with photoscenery and hunting down places I used to live or visit as a kid. Nothing like circling my parents house...
The colours look good from those shots, but it's hard to judge accuracy from pictures of countryside - they certainly look believable to people who don't know that particular location.
The...
Will be interesting to see what ORBX does with England, but the VFR photoreal stuff for England is great - love being able to see my old house and the places I used to visit from the air and with the...
Activation is a licencing issue, not a support issue. The process of activating Microsoft products isn't going away right now and FSX is just an entry in their database.
Perhaps now that they are...
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one. IRIS started developing one ages ago, but it always seemed to be a low priority as more and more projects were released ahead of it.
Great shots! Going to be back in the UK for a month soon and Duxford is on my list of places to get to, it's a regular destination for my dad and I.
Personally I think MS's business plan had a few holes in it and didn't really show an understanding of the market. The only thing that they got right was that there are two types of flight simmer;...
Couldn't agree more, I've just finished a circuit of the NZ south island in the P-51 with Acusim and apart from waiting a bit for the oil to warm up there was nothing about acusim that prevented that...
I couldn't even see the screenshots, so you're doing better than me!
Nice that this will be free for existing users.
I've found it just easier to edit the scenery.cfg file, particularly with some sceneries that insist on installing to the main FSX directory.
Has anyone also used the Aeroplane Heaven Lanc? How does the FCS offering compare?
I'd like to get this, but the AH version was pretty poor, especially in the VC.
Is this one aircraft model...
