Patience is always a good thing.. Larry Dave and Rachel will be working on it. I know larry was having difficulty with one area, so we just need to give him time .
She's one busy kitty...

I think she's no longer interested in anything to do with flights sims. She was doing artwork for NASCAR and INDY cars (sims).

I think we should keep this civil and stop the finger pointing and blame game. People do have lives outside flightsims and creating things for them. If Rachel has taken on some work that will make her some money I say good on her. A little patience goes a loooooooong way.
Pat, I'll keep it civil and afterwards if the Admins would like to close the thread that's fine. I'm sure Rachael is basically a good person, and I agree with you that if she has found a gig that is a moneymaker then by all means she should pursue it. However, ignoring communications in an effort to close the project and get it released. . .promising to complete the external and some internal textures in order to allow the project to be released on-time (5 or 6 months ago) and then not coming through. I'm sorry, patience is one thing, leaving an outstanding project hanging because you have better things to do and not even letting someone know that you can't finish it or don't want to finish it. . . .that goes beyond having a little patience.
Let's forget the Boxcar and go racing. FK found iRacing (trucks), on Steam, and now GTA (Forest Ranger). It's all over. She went over to the other side. 25 minute videos to boot. She really doesn't have time for anything else. It's addicting. Here is my video: https://youtu.be/_3rnqdCWmnA (and it's ONLY 5 minutes). Wait for Nordschleife (Ha!). Lots more fun than flying tubes (or Boxcars).

Is it at all possible that, given the fantastic artistic talent shown by many members of SOH in other projects, that someone else could help to complete the project in the absence of Firekitten?
What ever happened to making a promise and seeing it through? If you can't fulfill your obligation just say so and hand the project over to others to finish. Just my worthless 2cents.
If you want the plane, guys, you'll have to pick up the remaining work. No excuses.
And never, ever point fingers at freeware devs for missed deadlines or alleged broken promises. Freeware doesn't owe anything to anyone (save credit for used material).
There are still current-gen NASCAR sims. Amazing.
Being a mysterious sport from the colonies, I manged to spend quite some time with the very first installment of the series in 1994 and for a bit with the 2003 release, but after that, the appeal just fizzled out.
Amen. There are millions of real world, real life reasons why a freeware project might be stopped. They are started as labors of love when the developers life is good. Speaking from experience, the project is nothing compared to a wife, a job, or especially a child.
Whining from the community only sours the taste more.
Hey... Myself, Robert and Paul made a promise to you folks on the P-61. We were working on it up too 18 hours a day, seven days a week, and we burned out, badly. But after five years, we're back to keep that promise.. Dont give up on some thing like the C119, just because it isnt progressing at a pace our hunger demands.. be patient.. things change, and I'd rather have Larry around for a long time, rather than disappear for years, like I and Robert did..
This has been one reason I lurk in this forum for so long. It has some people that live and learn, hold steady and take well deserved breaks when needed. I know during my tenure, I have seen more than one freeware or developer get burned out from the heady demands of some, myself included. Therefore, always good to see them return, if it's meant to be.
To all the freeware and developers I have thrown more darts than laurels, forgive me. Patience is a virtue that often eludes me, however, with age comes humility.
Thanks for returning Warchild, aka Pam. Enjoyed much of your contributions through the years.
Hi Pam and all C-119 aficionados! Another "Shadow" story for you. I was poking around AvGeeks and saw the following - http://www.avgeekery.com/gunship-his...w-and-stinger/
Enjoy.
Thanks Jay.. Thats a good read for sure..
