A propos new campaign
Hello to all campaign experts,
I recently found on one of my ages old CDs some missions from CryingToto.
They pick out themes from the Med theater like Anzio, reconquering Corsica and Operation Dragoon. There is also some scenery available.
Was anybody aware of these missions?
I took a closer look to them, but my capabilites with mission building are quite limited and some of the scenery does not work (CTD).
Unfortunately, the old website does not work anymore, so I do not have more information than the archived files.

Nschley,
This actually has already been done to a large extent. In The Tuskegee Airmen, Devildog73 did the lands at Anzio and Salerno, and the missions involving Corsica, to an extent, are covered by Captain Kurt's 82nd Fighter Group and my Beaus in the Sand Campaign, although Dragoon is not addressed specifically in either campaign.
That being said, the required scenery along that section of France, airbases and the harbors of Marseille and Toulon, have already been done, including the GSL work by Dombral and myself, so the only real work required would be to select the aircraft and ships, then build the missions.

Hi Nobby,
The missions are now found on this website: http://douchka3.free.fr/
They could be updated with better aircraft. The Corsica airfields' infrastructure isn't needed as that is included with Achim's scenery. The nearby airfield of Poretta could be substituted for Alto Folelli.
If you start by just changing the airfields to those by Achim, the missions should work OK.
Good luck,
Kevin

Hi Rami, hi Kevin
many thanks for your suggestions! Indeed, the campaigns mentioned cover the operations and events of this time frame, but the peculiar thing with CryingToto's missions is that they take the Free French side.
There are some repaints for FAFL aircraft available, so that is not the challenge ... but with the scenery.:banghead:
I followed the idea by Kevin to substitute the Corsica airfields, but the devil is in the detail, because in some missions the actions/goals are related to the infrastructure created by the original author. To change these cause a CTD of the mission builder.
Unfortunately, for the moment I do not have too much time to devote to this, but I keep on trying :running:
