SamdimDesign, Yakovlev and more exotic planes
Yes russian planes were mostly made for FS9 (I guess they don't have fancy computers even today over there in the east).
This web site is full of FS9 planes, it's at least interesting just to look at them, and some planes might port over:

Here is a payware Yakovlev 40 for FSX, looks nice isn't it? But no VC... what a pity for a payware...

Look at Project Tupolev for their great TU-154 and IL-62 (mostly FS9 but with some efforts might work in FSX):

Tupolev 144, the doomed Soviet Concorde
Don't close this thread yet, it's a good place to share ideas and tricks for those interested in Soviet, Russian and Eastern Block aviation.
The Tu-144 is a bit on the ugly side, and a complete rip off the British/French Concorde, thanks to extensive industrial spying (or is it the other way around?)!
Anyway the FS9 version by Thomas Ruth, Claudio Mussner, Dmitry Kolesnik (and many more) ports over to FSX almort 100% if you know how to deal with exotic file location... (tu144v2a.zip and tu144v2b.zip at Avsim).
From the readme file : "Tupolev TU-144 complete package 2.0 - Soviet supersonic passenger aircraft. First flight in 1968, two months before the western Concorde. Also known as "Concordski" or "Charger". Four versions included. Standard, improved and NASA version plus a never completed modernized version. New fully functional virtual cockpit, new 2D panel with INS, autoland and many other features. Many new customized XML animations. Sound files recorded on two different types of real running TU144 engines."

VC is clickable (2 versions) and there is a lot of eye candy and functionnalities, too much to list... FPS seems quite good for a port over, better than usual... Tom Ruth is definitely a genius...
Sean PM me if you need help with installing it in FSX...

Kirill Konovalov's Ilyushin Il-86 and IL-96

Tu-154M and Tu-154B-2 by Project Tupolev
Tu-154B-2 by Project Tupolev ports over to FSX without too much efforts, but for the Tu-154M version 2.03, some panel textures and gauges don't show, so I tried the tricks used to fix the Falcon 50 VC and it works, but it's a long process to create these textures... More soon...
FSX Tu-154B-2: some engine gauges missing... should be easy to fix...

FSX Tu-154M: most gauges and panel texture missing...

Maybe somebody already fixed this? In FS9 it looks like this... sexy isn't it?

Freeware Ilyushin IL-14 for FS2004 & FSX by Jens Kristensen
Works very well in FSX.... ok not native... Propeller transparency should be easy to fix with swapping the one from the default FSX DC-3... Wide screen 2D panel in the works...

Project Tupolev Tu-154M for FSX... almost...
Ok the VC textures gauges were hidden inside a gauge... no need to build them for scratch! I swapped some incompatible gauge with default or XML gauges, at least to fill the void in the panel... I'm afraid I can't test all the russian systems... At least I can fly around in style!
Attachment 47591 Attachment 47592 Attachment 47593
For the 2D wide panel, the bitmap is from the "Vitamin" Tu-154M. It's a very nice plane but with no VC (FPS are excellent with this version. No so good with the PT version).
Attachment 47594 Attachment 47595 Attachment 47596
Project Tupolev stated many times they don't want FSX version of their Tu-154M floating around, and I respect that. My version is just for fun and for the good looks and to show it can be done! Maybe the systems works, but maybe they are completely wrong... Didn't find the switch for the ADI!!! I hope a real native FSX version will be popping somewhere soon enough...
