Ok, anyone know if there is a scenery
of the Tirpitz in Norwegian fjord for
Fs2004?
I seem to recall there was a CFS2
scenery, but can't find it in usual places?
Thanks

Motormouse,
Shessi did the Bismarck, not the Tirpitz. 😉
Pete,
At Flightsim.com there is a German battleship package by Erwin Welker available which includes a pilotable and an AI version of the Bismark and the Tirpitz (file name: package_germanbattleships.zip). With the AI carriers2 tool you should be able to drop the Tipitz somewhere in a fjord.
Cheers,
Huub
Huub, aicarriers is for FSX, and, as far as I know, cannot be used in FS2004.
Such a pity that we do not have something similar in FS2004
But, the package_germanbattleships.zip will give you drivable WWII Battleships Bismarck And Tirpitz , as well as AI versions.
So all is not lost.

The pilotable versions have many amazing animations. Tirpitz has thirty moving parts, including torpedo shoots and two animated Arado-196 floatplanes, one with folded wings, the other one performes a catapult launch. The addon provides a 2D navigation bridge and many virtual deck views. Thirty-four FSX camera views let you explore the huge ship. In FS2004 there are eighteen look-around views. Of course there are many effects included. Both ships are also have AI versions included
Off the subject, slightly, thanks for Huub planting an idea, I've downloaded most of Erwin Welker's ships & vehicles (as well as other ships, HMS Bounty & others), & I'm going to stick them into a separate FS2004 install, with suitable scenery. I'll also put in a small range of appropriate aircraft as well.
Nobody said that FS2004 must be only for flying!:a1310:
As the late Garry Smith said: Simming is all about Fun, Facts & Fiction!
Hi Z,
After the initial post, I started playing around with Erwin's FSX Tirpitz. But if you want to carry on, I'll stop what I'm doing. Be nice to have the whole scenery.
Cheers
Shessi
Shessi, looks great,:jump::jump: how do you find the time to do all this!!:wiggle:
Im sure it would be really easy to turn it into a scenery object and could be place'd with pretty much all the regular scenery tools for FS9 and FSX
Ian, see pics....:a1310:
Z, I'm lucky I have a zen life dedicated to flight sim modding...ha ha! You're more than welcome to the bgl if you want to build up the whole scenery or I can just upload as is, maybe with some anti-torpedo boom netting and a few small boats.
Cheers
Shessi
Pete,
Is this what you are looking for?

Good shot Huub :encouragement: Just listen'd to a podcast about PR in the last war, one of the pilots looking for the Tirpitz got back to RAF Wick with just 10 gallons in his tank, the average Spit use's about a gallon a minute
