Me too. :frown: Dr. Greg Forbes from the Weather Channel is on scene, he stated there is no doubt in his mind this was an EF5. He saw curbing from the streets ripped up and imbedded in the earth some distance away from where it was picked up. Also being reported now that this tornado was 3 times larger than the 1999 one. Looks like if you were not in an underground shelter in the path of this one, your chances of survival were very slim. :frown:

I MIGHT go to the Santa Fe event, as it is the last weekend of my summer holiday, but I also will attend an event surrounding the closure of the MLM on Saturday as I got an invitation from an ex-volunteer to go visit. Last year they drove that Hellcat tank during the Santa Fe event, and also an M3.

Thanks for the answer Dave! Interesting to read the Hellcat is powered by an R-975 radial engine. Most of the vehicles driving around came from Germany and I don't think they would like (Or even be allowed!) to dress up like WW2 german soldiers.. Spectators aren't allowed to wear German gear either. It is a great museum with a large (300+) vehicle collection, but most are allied vehicles. The armour driven around this weekend all came from other museums and private collectors around Europe. There's the Panther and a pair of 34's, but there are no German half-tracks in their collection.

That would never work, Kevin. The impulse engine field modulators would interfere with the anti-gravity compensators if the atmospheric density is greater than 0.357 (Earth normalized), so the acceleration vector de-couplers wouldn't work, and anyone knows what would happen then! Hey, I heard Khan was involved in this movie. Is that true? That would be cool.

Some kodaks of the flight down to Jackson Hole. There were considerable mountainous terrain issues to deal with on this leg. I had to make a detour early on to avoid some particularly scary looking hills, then we almost had a CFIT whilst motoring along in the clouds, then, upon breaking out onto the high plains north of Jackson Hole, I could see the mighty Tetons ahead. I zigged to the east to pass over the lake, which set me up for a nice approach into 19. Got in some ILS practice during the landing.

Thanks Rob! This 310 (Milviz) is really nice. Down safe at Jackson Hole. The duenna track shows a maximum altitude of 9978 feet. That's where I was sure I busted the 10K "soft ceiling" clause. I was flying through this cloud and suddenly saw pine trees. In the clouds, yes, inside the clouds, if you can believe it. I said, "hey, what are those pine trees doing way up here in the clouds?" My passenger was not nearly as impressed as I was by the strange phenomenon. Long story short, and a couple of Gs later, I cleared the ridge. My view is that in the early films the SW Universe was still mostly at peace, so to go from that state to it falling into darkness, some comic relief etc. had to be introduced. If you look at the second trilogy it's great how the look transforms as events take place.

Which in this case is why you should go find a store and test drive one. It is your posterior that is going to be parked in for long periods of time. You need to find out if it is something you will like to sit in. As I said, mine was expensive, but has lasted me 10 years. Well, more. At the original price, that works out to a little over $40 a year worth of use. A good investment and a bargain. Especially for the amount of time its been sat in. :icon_lol:

Yes, I had stopped the carrier to save the flight with an aircraft on deck and forgot to get it moving again. The extra 20 knots would have made it a bit easier.

I've tried this years ago in Fs8, lets see if I can recreate it in FsX...: Didn't land it there, I don't think that would work, so I flew a helicopter in and switched to the C-17. 20% fuel load, no cargo and only the two pilots on board. Wing clearance might be a problem:

I like it, but... It's heavy on the frame rates. It is a few years old now, shows its age a bit, IMHO. The default flight dynamics are, lets say odd at times. The transitions from hover to flight or back to a hover can be frustrating. However... Rob Barendregt released a V(S)TOL/Hovering gauge for the Tiltrotor, version 4 of that gauge last September. I know its available at AVSim, if you do a search for his last name.

I have an office chair, but its a high end Executive style one I got through my local office supply store. Has about 9 adjustment areas, plenty of gel padding in areas for hours of sitting in front of the computer. Folks thought I was crazy to spend that much on a chair, few hundred dollars. It's held up way better than the ones available at a discount store. Most of those discount store types lasted me a couple years, and became quickly uncomfortable, and got thrown away. This one is going onto a decade now, and is about as tightly built as the day it was delivered. Some of the padding on the arm rests is a little worn, but those actually could be replaced.

    Hannah,

When you write, learn to use paragraph,
and one thought/subject in one paragraph.
The other thought/subject in another paragraph.
Always read your post before you click send.
    Even Mommy says stop.
I will give you enough time to re-read and edit it.
If you click Post message, you still can edit,
but people will read your post and maybe it is too late to edit
And sometimes, it is not good to talk a lot.
And do not talk or write a very long one.
You also need to have manners on writing.
Like Etiquette, you listen to others and
It is not always you talking.
Learn to read what others want to say and
    comment on what they said.

  9. One exact whole month and I will be back to school. I missed SOH very much. My Mom and I have a lot of activities. I go to a day care so she can work. She picks me up in the afternoon so I can go to my classes. I go to my Karate Class - I know that is for boys- then We go to my dance school. After that I read a few pages of my book. It is not a school project but that is what it should be - Mom said. I do have a little time to play with my computer because Mom and I draw and do some art work. I am learning to crochet and knit. I like crocheting a lot. I have not fly my aircraft for a month now. We have no time. Maybe this weekend. But I flew my RC plane my Dad gave me. We went to St Augustine and Jacksonville last week. My Mom is learning to shoot - real gun. Not the computer gun. I have to go. Bye.
  10. We arrived yesterday night from Panama City, Florida. I was so tired so I did not go to summer camp and stayed home with my Mom. We might go to the mall and order ice cream. I woke up really late and my Mom woke up really late too. I had a real good time. We went to the beach and to the park and to a lot of restaurants and my Mom took pictures of all the street signs. I do not want to embarrassed my Mom so I will just tell you about our trip in my visitor message. If you don't visit you will not read sorry but if you visit you will read a whole lot. I miss SOH and other computer stuff but I did not have time to use the computer because we have a lot to do. I stayed in the water till I get so tired. We drove six hours but I slept most of the time. If my Mom finished uploading all the pictures I will make a new album. I have to go and eat my Mom is calling me. From Hannah. Bye.
